Ive been visiting this place for years, awesome variety selections and I always end up with a full stomach. Its very affordable japanese food on the go and the soup is always piping hot.
I normally get the mini bowl set (3 options from a selected menu) and mix it up most times, spoiled for choice.

This was the first meal on the day I landed in Sydney and omgosh! I did not have any high expectations but I did note that this place has good reviews, hence decided to give it a go. And it was so cold on the day I landed thus I really wanted a hot bowl of soup. The broth was delicious and it was really good! Especially the udon 🥹💯👍🏻 it was so, so good! Highly recommend this place to those who loves Japanese udon or ramen! 💯💯💯

And plus points for the quick service and polite staff 🫶🏻 good job and much love from Malaysia!

There are so many dishes And you guys can choose many different toppings such as fried veggies, chickens and alike. I chose regular dish, If you’re starving, it’s better for choosing large one. It’s not that much of amount to have it. (not jumbo size)

Been here on several occasions and the food has always been great. Very affordable compared to other places where a large bowl of ramen with four eggs is only 15$! The place is always very packed so plan accordingly.

stumbled upon this place and i decided to give it a try. had the kake tempura which was $12.9 and i must say it’s decently good and considerably cheap given its location in town. the place feels like a canteen where you queue to make your order and grab a tray as you move forward to the cashier to make your payment and collect your order. service was fast despite the constantly busy crowd.

Busy , fast and tasty.
Always good value.
I love their udon soup cold or hot.
The chicken tempura is so far the best fried chicken around the area. No oily and just tasty. I also I need to say that is also cheaper than fried chicken around the block.
Only one problem…..sometimes is hard to get a table because is so busy but is easy to buy take away and eat everywhere you like.

Good food good price. The way they organise the restaurant is minimize the labour, but still focus on quality of the food. 10 out of 10

Almost like I was back in Osaka, even the octopus balls tasted the same!

Very quick and efficient. Good price. Must be the cheapest Japanese food in Sydney. The seating are a bit oily and dark. They definitely need to clean the place more often and please add more lights. But overall good food for the price you pay.

This is a great option for cheap Japanese food in Sydney CBD! Pick you’re noodle option, and add any topping that take your fancy - I always go for the half boiled egg, it’s got such a gooey texture which goes great mixed into noodles.

It gets very popular around lunch and dinner and there’s limited seating, so it’s sometimes hard to get a seat.

Tasty and cheap ramen noodles here Sydney. Very popular and recommended for ramen and it's always packed with customers. They have quite many choices of ramen and also fried food. Price was very reasonable and portion was quite filling. Grab a quick lunch here!

Another place I would rate more than 5 stars. This place is incredibly nostalgic for me so I may be a bit biased when I say this is the best cheap Japanese and udon eatery in the city. You can’t go wrong with any dish here. The udon is perfectly bouncy and the soup is delicious.

Also discovered that they have set meals that come with a dessert too for around $13 which is a steal. You can choose between ramen and udon for the noodle dish, a rice dish with a variety toppings and a dessert. Definitely recommend getting the desserts as a side too, both hojicha and ichigo mousses are amazing.

My my!! In my opinion this is in the top 5 best ramen in Sydney, super super fast service. Delicious tonkotsu broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Very affordable especially for the quality. Under 20$ for all the ramens.

Quick service, delicious feed and great value for money! I ordered the kake tempura udon which came with two tempuras - prawn and veggie. Most of the noodle dishes can be ordered in regular or large size. Once you order your main dish, you get to add on all your sides like takoyaki and karaage chicken, as well as toppings such as egg, corn and shallots. I also couldn’t resist grabbing a fizzy drink. You also get a free scoop of tempura bits at the end!

I’ve never been to Japan but I imagine this is what it would feel like ..🥺🌸 But next time, I’ll remember to ask for the tempura to be placed on the side 🤫

PS. They accept Liven pay so you can save $$

What a treat! We lived in the Meriton on Kent Street when we arrived in Sydney from Dubai and went to the Mappen udon and ramen place almost daily. Fast food at its best. Tasty, affordable and quick. Both udon and ramen are great. So are the veggie fritters. Much better than the more Western alternatives around. We are missing the place already since we moved to our permanent place in North Sydney.

Nice place to get a bowl of udon. They also serve a variety of fried vegetables and tempura. The place can get quite crowded; so people would usually just come, grab a bite and then leave. Not a very good place to hangout. Their prices are quite inexpensive.

We were just going to grab something to eat before a show and wanted it to be quick. Bumped into this place, very Japanese like, walk through one door and order, pick up tray and take it to the counter to pay. Then bring tray back.
The ramen with egg was fantastic and so was my partner's tamura Udon. The noodles were so fresh and broth was great. The tonkosu broth wasn't as thick as Ippudo but it was still rich and delicious. Even better were the prices, approx $25 for two bowls. You can't go wrong with that.

Holy cow this udon is good!

It's so simple, yet so flavourful AND satisfying.

I think the bowl was roughly $15~, which is a bit eh for something so simple. But once the food was in my mouth, I understand.

There was a lot of love and care into making this broth.

It's the best udon I've had. Better than anything I've had in Melbourne. Unreal, I'm so jealous!
