Had a lovely evening at Kuro Bar & Dining. Service was great ! Food was amazing. Can really taste the freshness and the array of flavours! Experience was really good too. Drinks also tasted great! Would definitely recommend trying this place and for special occasions! They had a little birthday treat at the end of courses too which was really nice!

Can't recommend this restaurant enough! We came on a Sat lunch time and went for the $100 per head menu. The amount of food we got was very impressive.

All of the flavours were fantastic. Super fresh and exciting. The menu had a good amount of variety and looked beautiful.

The restaurant is decorated exquisitely - bright and airy with an elegance. The staff were also incredible - super friendly, attentive and helpful. They were constantly filling up our waters and talked through the menu. Our main server also took the time to show us some of the special sake we had in our cocktails and opened the door for us as well left.

Really enjoyed our visit and will absolutely be back!

Best dining experience I have had in a while, great experience with amazingly friendly staff. My son had been wanting to come here for a very long time and was more than pleased. Enjoyed both chef selections, the tuna special etc. We were blessed to be able to sample both the Chef's Seafood and Chef's Meat selection menu. Definitely worth trying this restaurant. Thank you to both Chef Taka Teramoto and the amazing team.

The food served were quite interesting and the flavours are very delicate. We really liked the refreshing ponzu sauce used with the kingfish and the Kuro fried chicken was tender and juicy. The tempura prawns weren’t too special but were light and crispy.

For mains, we had both types of wagyu to compare, the Kagoshima wagyu was more tender but was more mild in flavour while the David Blackmore wagyu had more bite (still tender but just more firm) and a stronger beef flavour.

The potatoes were alright, I feel like it needed a lot more salt because it’s mostly just carbs. If the chef was worried about guest thinking it was too salty maybe they could provide a small dish of salt that guest can sprinkle on the potatoes themselves.

The desserts tasted very floral/herbal and is definitely an acquired taste. Most of the sweetness came from the fruit used (mango/pineapple), you can taste very strong jasmine in the jasmine milk dessert.

The service from the waiter and two waitresses were very good. They weren’t chatty or aggressive like a lot of western servers. They do their job efficiently, frequently refilling our water and checking to make sure we had our orders or informing them if there were any changes and they were polite and that’s really all we want so I give them 5 stars.

The payment system was via QR code which was okay. Lots of things use QR codes these days so we were familiar with it. I’m just glad they still had a paper menu.

The thing we were a bit weirded by was that if you ordered a la carte instead of their set menu, they expect you to order $100 per person at the table (so for 3 people you had to have an order totalling up to $300) which we found ridiculous)

Absolutely delightful restaurant in the city. Entrees were generous and food was delicious. The sashimi was perfect. Very classy and friendly staff. Blown away by how reasonable the set menu pricing is. Highly recommend.

Went for the Azuki to Kouri pop-up.

My partner had the snacks and duck ramen. He liked it.

I had the Wagyu don which was superb! There were three different Wagyu in my bowl. Please bring this back! I'll be waiting!

The main reason why we booked is so we can try Azuki to Kouri's Kakigoris. We both had Matcha/ Azuki/ Mochi one. Was delicious! Can't wait to go to Japan and eat the strawberry one. I ate it too fast it gave me a brain freeze. Haha.

Matcha pina colada was the best! Will come back for it.

It was our engagement and they surprised us with a candle. Very sweet.

I recently dined at Kuro Bar and dining that exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, unique, and of high quality. The staff was kind and attentive, and the prices were very good. The outstanding cocktails and beautiful presentation of the dishes added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional fusion dining.

Good food, good service who can complain? Was seated immediately when we arrived and the staff were very accommodating. We had the premium seafood chef’s selection. Highly recommend. The ambient lighting set the mood for a nice dinner.

Dishes pictured were from the set menu as part of a large group table. The pacing of dishes in terms of flavour profiles and texture was nicely structured - nothing felt like "too much" where you had to push to continue eating for the sake of it. Portions were ample and best shared in subgroups of 3-4. The food itself was not overly complicated but executed well. Overall a pleasant experience if you have the capacity to splash a bit of coin together with friends or family. The bill incl. a few drinks came to ~$180pp.

Such an amazing experience for me and my partner’s anniversary.The $150pp set menu was amazing and every dish did not disappoint, cocktails were very delicious. Thank you for such a unforgettable night.

Tho the food was great, my biggest surprise at this place is the shaved ice. Very well made, exceeded my expectations.

Overall quality of the food, especially the raw ingredients was quite nice. Which is important since this place offers many of them.

If you’re looking for a generic Japanese dinner, go for the set menu. Nice and easy.

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney! Food is amazing and so are their cocktails. I recommend their chef's selection set menu if it's your first time, but they do a la carte too.

Had dinner at Kuro Bar & Dining today. This place was recommended by a good friend who also just been to Sydney recently. Got to thank him for the great recommendation. The food is extremely great not just in taste but also the presentation.
Had a 6 course menu and add on of King Prawn Tempura Crepe plus an after dinner cocktail, Yuzucello.
What an enjoyable evening.

Ordered the set menu and LOVED the food. We were so satisfied and full afterwards. Every dish was super tasty and staff were so friendly. Will definitely be back!

Late review, but was here for an anniversary dinner with my partner a while back - the set menu was amazing, the timing of the courses was paced well, and the staff were professional and lovely. We sat at the counter and were able to watch the chefs at work which was great. Everything was delicious from start to finish, the restaurant decor was warm and inviting, and the atmosphere was great.

We had the shorter set menu, but next time we might opt for the longer set menu, just to pack even more delicious food in.

Kuro provides a beautiful Japanese experience, the food is refined, flavoursome and thoughtful. The staff are really lovely and friendly and well informed. The decor of the place is stunning. The beverages are great as well and the bar has a vast selection of wine and sake to go with the amazing food.

Exceptional!
This place has absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the oysters to the sashimi, the tempura and the wagyu, everything is so delicious and the ingredients so fresh! I was especially impressed by this black sesame tantan noodle, so different and yet so yummy! The desert is beautifully presented and perfectly executed! The balanced texture was very impressive. They also have very reasonable price points with two appetisers, two entries, a main and a desert for $65. Well worth every penny!

28/01/2022: Personally, I think it's a great value for money Japanese fine dining restaurant that caters to Asian tastes and has a warm and welcoming environment, I would consider hitting up the new menu again :)

14/10/2023: I’ve tried new menu, it was also nice but the cocktail (Jasmine Silk) I ordered was small portion :(

The food is absolutely delicious! Each dish was packed with flavor and presented beautifully. The cocktails are highly recommended. The service is attentive and the staff were all very polite and lovely.
This restaurant is now one of our favorites. Can’t wait to return.
