Delicious laksa! One of the best I have had in a while.
The Soup has a rich complex flavour with the red chilli oil making it not too spicy but with a nice kick.
I had the beef laksa ($13) with 3 large chunks of slow cooked beef which you could easily tear apart with your chop sticks. Nice generous portion of Asian greens and Tofu gave plenty of variety.
Top marks from me.
Located on the ground floor of the Grace Hotel. Enter via King Street.

I've always really liked this place. Photos below pertain to the reopening in May 2021. Nasi lemak is still really nice (it's more authentic than before - I am an Aussie born in Malaysia and I love this place). There are many ways you can have this dish which make it so pleasant. The wat tan hor (egg gravy noodles) is better than before as well.

Historically what worked for me was: nasi lemak, Hainan chicken rice and most of the wok noodle dishes - most of my colleagues like the laksa here, but I find laksa in Australia is not for me.

Also called "little Malaysia" this street style place sits in the foyer of the Grace hotel. A wonderful place for lunch, quality, tasty. Relatively well priced (mid teens $).

Best Laksa so far in Sydney/Melbourne. The only issue that it does not open on weekends.

Quite smelly area because of the pub next to it. All tables were sticky.

Food here is really cheap and the portion is generous.

Amazing curry and roti, above average Laksa. I also really like the fried hainese chicken.

My go to place for city lunch.
Generous portions.
I found that they have a good variety of malaysian Goodies.
Of note that i have tasted arr the hookien mee , char key teow, chicken rice and har mee. All pretty good.

This is by go to lunch when I am in the City office. Trying to work my way through the menu. So far both chicken & beef rendang has been one of the best I've had. So flavourful and meat melt in your mouth. CKT also delicious and enough hai. I order takeaway and piping hot when I am back in the office. Not too spicy so I add chilli which they have in small containers. Even that has layers of deliciousness! Love Malaysian food and have been to many places. This tops the list.

Like the other reviews have said, this place is hidden away on the king street side of the Grace Hotel. There's no visible signage from the street and you have to walk into the hotel to see it (it's at the back of PJ's)

I discovered it by chance and tried out their Hainanese Chicken rice. I loved it! I've tried out plenty of Malaysian eateries in Sydney and this one gets my vote for their reasonable pricing and the speed of their service. I went on a Thursday lunch time and less than 5 minutes after ordering, my food was served. The portion size was good, the food was delicious and very close to how I would expect it if I was eating in Singapore or Malaysia and ,what's pretty important to me, the place isn't that busy. I had no problems finding a seat during the lunch peak hour.

An interesting dish to try is their fried Hainanese chicken rice dish. I sounds quite interesting as I don't think they serve that in Singapore or Malaysia. I haven't tried it yet but that's the next dish I'll get from there.

Definitely worth a visit!

Great laksa, great taste and balance between the chilli, spices and coconut milk/cream. One of the better ones I've had in the city.

Love that it isn't too busy (got here just after 1pm on a Thursday) for lunch on a workday so easy to find a seat.

It's inside the lobby of The Grace Hotel so it's not so visible from the street.

Good find - will keep it on the list of places to go during the working week.
