Delicious, fresh food! great wines! efficient and attentive service. Be sure to make a reservation. You won't regret dining here. We ate the chef's Banquet for $96/pp (pictured). We ordered scallops on top of that as well. Highly recommend the scallops, kingfish, beef tartare, pork neck and baked peaches. The creme brulee and strawberry granita for dessert were perfect finishers - a quality dessert that is not heavy/carby as we were very full !

We were so impressed with Ates - what a gem in the middle of the mountains. Our favourite dish was the Octopus, it was cooked perfectly and had beautiful flavours. The kingfish sashimi with the ginger sauce was so amazing as well. There really wasn’t a weak fish here, everything was just so enjoyable. The service was just so awesome as well - Ates is will be a blue mountains institution for sure!

Incredible spot for a date night. We had the banquet and each course came out perfectly. Their house red was lovely and so were the cocktails.

The food and service was impeccable! We ordered a lot of the small sharing plates. The menu is designed to be shared so the proportions of each dish was sufficient. The flavours were delicious - our favourites were the burrata, focaccia bread and octopus. It is a lovely warm restaurant with very attentive staff. Highly recommended!

Probably a 4.5, but as an appreciation for kindly fitting us in last minute, have bumped it up to 5. The food is very pretty and comes out very quickly. Plus Plus. Most of the dishes were also very good in taste. The Octopus was my least favourite dish as it was a bit chewy and had lots of chopped parsley scattered on it.
Favourite item was the crabmeat tartlets.
Minus one point for atmosphere only as it does feel a little crammed for a fine dining sort of meal (more of a Cafe setting), and there is a 10% weekend surcharge even on a Saturday, which is a bit unusual as I've only seen this surcharge on Sundays at some places before. But overall still a nice experience.

It was incredible. We sat and ate for over two hours (banquet) and were it not for space in our stomachs we could have kept going. The team were gracious and attentive. All the dishes were so delicious, well thought out and generous. The attention to detail for flavour combinations is also immediately evident. The duck was so impressive! Standouts for me were the beetroot and the rice pudding. (Team, please tell Will that when I said “that one dish could eclipse the others” absolutely doesn’t mean it was the only good one 😅, I just have a fondness for those kinds of desserts.) Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Absolutely wonderful meal! Well rounded palette experience. Great serving size for the banquet. Phenomenal service. Tudor was outstanding with his knowledge of the menu, wine notes and care. Would absolutely recommend as one of the only hatted restaurants in the mountains.

Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, attentive, friendly service and interesting, thoughtfully plated food. We had the shared plate, set menu ($90). Loved the chef’s choices and the order of service.

Our first time there and we enjoyed it so much. The relaxed service was some of the best we've ever had. The food was wonderful, creative and always interesting. Some of it was served in small portions, enabling us to sample a wide variety (the octopus was especially good). We chose cocktails over wine and they were so good, so expertly made. For such an exceptional experience we thought it was very good value.
As the Rocky Horror song says "give yourself over to absolute pleasure" and go there.
We're Blackheath residents so to be able to walk twenty minutes there and back added to the pleasure of the evening.
We'll be be back soon!

We recently had our wedding catered by Will and the team at Ateş. We’d dined at the restaurant previously, and always said having them cater our wedding would be an absolute dream scenario. Food was a really important aspect of the day for both of us, and we wanted our guests to enjoy a simply excellent meal, while still feeling like they had been invited over to our place for a family gathering. Happy bellies = good vibes in our book, and that was a non-negotiable for our wedding.

We contacted Ateş, and to our absolute delight they were more than willing to work with us and provide catering for our wedding. From then on, the entire process was nothing but lovely. They were always responsive, enthusiastic and happy to accommodate our questions and requests. We were so impressed by their hospitality, and felt so excited by the sharing menu we created together. The flexibility to tailor our own package was incredible. We ended up with several canapes, two starters, several sides, a main protein and some desserts. We ordered our alcoholic drinks through Ateş as well. We were a bit lost as to where to start with drinks, and so they provided suggestions and guided us on quantities, which made the process infinitely easier and stress-free.

On the day, they were incredibly professional and efficient. The food was amazing, and was everything (and more) than we could have imagined. However, what really struck us was the service. Everyone on the team was lovely. Our venue manager at Waldara Farm was beyond impressed by their professionalism. All the staff seemed to really enjoy what they were doing, and genuinely be having fun doing so. Many of our guests commented on what a lovely presence the staff were, how they interacted with the kids and seamlessly accommodated everyone. Our guests were raving about the food for days after the wedding. We couldn’t have had a better experience, and are so grateful to Will and the entire Ateş team for making such a positive impact on our wedding day!

The food was delicious, and unique, I felt every dish had been crafted with care. The location is easy to get to if you are in the upper mountains. What makes this place trully exceptional is fun team of young, vibrant, and knowledgeable staff who have a true passion for hospitality.

Went for our anniversary and had one of the best meals we’ve had for awhile. Great service, food and wine list. Octopus was the highlight!

My first review is below. I recently went back as their degustation menu has changed. Second review. Started well, was called a day prior to my booking with them apologizing that the menu change would be a day later as they had had delivery issues. No biggy. They were able to shoot me in on the following evening. Service is fabulous, very knowledgeable, just the right amount of attention, very curtious. Great. Drinks are mixed well. The food again Devine. Every dish was sublime. We'd initially opted for John dory instead of the pork as we had the pork last time, (at that time it was our least favourite). But asked for a serve of the pork just to try it so that I could compare. So glad we did. Simply amazing. I have eaten at many restaurants all around the world. I have my favorites. This place is now one of them. Keep up the great work. First review. A completely unexpected delight. Currently only serving a degustation menu Ates is a diamond amongst the coal. Fabulous food, great service. Staff are knowledgeable about both the food and wines. The food is a very modern twist on its Turkish heritage. To the point that one could be forgiven thinking it heralds from anything but Turkish roots. No matter, the food is beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks. Everything is well seasoned, tasty tasty tasty. Highly recommended. The drinks are well mixed, at least what we tried. Do try the scallops. They are an additional charge but well worth it. Every single dish was tasty. If I had to find fault with something it could only be the pork neck we had. Perhaps resting a little longer would have helped the pork be a little more tender. However a must try.

Fantastic!! A quaint restaurant on a quiet street. The decor inside was very tasteful and rustic. The staff were incredibly friendly with explaining the menu and also providing tips on what to see nearby. The dishes were rich in flavour. My personal favourite was the parisian gnocchi - absolutely melted in your mouth!

We dined here last night and couldn’t recommend it more! We had multiple dietary requirements on the table but the staff helped us with that without a fuss and the food that came out was amazingly presented and delicious. The atmosphere is warm here and the staff are really friendly and have great service. We got the banquet and were stuffed ! I will definitely be back ☺

Everything was super tasty!!! Three of us had 4 small plates, 2 big plates and finished with a piece of cake & coffee. We loved them all! Try their house made cheese cake. I will definitely come again for dinner set menu.
