Bandalong Cottages - 3 x 2b self-contained - 6 min to Mudgee

We had an absolutely great time at Bandalong this past weekend. The location is perfect, the cottages are cozy and the wildlife is spectacular. Diana and the team did a great job in making us feel welcome, providing recommendations and ensuring we had a wonderful stay. Can’t wait to come back!

When I stay in a cottage, rather than a five star hotel clinical experience, I want a sense of home. The Bandalong Cottages are above and beyond my expectations! Staying in the cottage feels like going back home staying with my mum, except that mum is not there yet mum is everywhere. The owners show great care to the guest and give extraordinary touches to details that I feel very much welcomed. To name a few, all the plants in the room are freshly picked locally, the paintings on the wall are sceneries around town look like they are painted by either local artists or family members, night caps ready for the guest, ice cubes made up in the freezer, porch light lit upon my arrival, plenty of bathroom and kitchen supplies, lollies in the fridge of different flavours, a special cabinet for everything you need for the fireplace, notes are handy at places that they know you need them, a chair outside of the bathroom for you to sit down putting your shoes on, carry bag for grocery shopping, four layers of blanket duvet combination and double sided electric blanket…. It’s easier said than done, and I know how much extra efforts they have put in to the cottage. It is truly appreciated. On top of that, the price for the two bedder is only half of the price I paid for the Harry Potter room at Hydro on the way home. If I ever come back again to Mudgee, I’ll for sure to book the cottages again! Did I mention the beautiful stars at night and the friendly Roos every now and then? Hey Diana, put a bathtub in will ya? I’ll pay double the price for the cottage next time. Thank you so much for this fantastic experience!

My friends and I just spent a fabulous 4 days at Bandalong enjoying the Mudgee area. We enjoyed a fabulous cottage that was private and well appointed . The owners made sure we had everything we needed and helped us with fabulous recommendations on how best to enjoy the area. We loved sitting on the verandah enjoying a local wine and watching the kangaroos and birds . Thank you for a fabulous stay .

My friends had all said how good Bandalong Cottages were, but there is nothing quite like seeing for yourself. Well they were right, they are a great place to stay. What I like is that even tho they are only a few minutes drive from the centre of Mudgee, when you are in the cottage you feel like you are a million miles from anywhere. So quiet & relaxing being surrounded by the bush. We sat on the deck for hours just chatting and watching the wildlife (kangaroos, birds, butterflies) go by.
The cottages are so well appointed & decorated too. So many nice touches including the complimentary wine, up-to-date magazines, cloth shopping bag to borrow, artwork, & comfy beds. Plus appreciated the recommendations from Diana as to best places for local produce and dining (give the Blue Wren a try).
Next time I want a relaxing few days away but still be close to great wineries and fresh local produce, Mudgee & Bandalong will be my choice. I'll be back!

Just spent an amazing weekend with friends at this fabulous cottage retreat. From the moment you walk in you sense a warm and cozy feeling as if this will be home away from home. Perfect location with a short drive to local attractions and plenty of local wildlife to keep you company whilst you relax on the verandah. Definitely will be coming back with my friends or family.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bandalong. The cottage is beautiful love all the little details and the owners are awesome they go an extra mile to make your stay extra special. We were there for my partner's birthday and it was our first time there but getting the email prior to our stay and giving us recommendations where to eat what to do and wineries to go to was perfect! We also loved the scenery waking up to Kangaroos and hearing the birds in the morning just stunning!!! Could not recommend this place enough!!!

We had a very enjoyable stay over the recent long weekend. The cottages are very cosy and have lots of privacy. The host, Diana, was lovely and very thoughtful, she even had ice sticks and mini chocolate bars chilled ready for us to enjoy because the temperatures on the weekend were in the high 30's°. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Mudgee.

My friends and I stayed in Kurrajong for the weekend and it was just perfect! A few minutes drive out of town but so peaceful, we all slept great! Diana came to welcome us when we arrived and gave us some great tips on where to go. Everything was thought of for our convenience, it was clean and cosy. The beds were super comfortable and when we come back to Mudgee we would definitely choose Bandalong cottages. Thank you so much Diana and family

We had the most wonderful time at the beautiful Bandalong Cottages and we just can't wait to go again. It truly felt like a home away from home...on our last day, we wanted to extend and stay one more night. We've never stayed anywhere where every little detail has been considered. It was clean, it was cosy, the owner came to check in a couple of times which was greatly appreciated. I actually loved the fact that we had no phone reception or WiFi, then it felt like a real break and shut down. Our puppy, Flóki, also loved it and it was so lovely to be able to bring him with us to see beautiful Mudgee. Thank you all so much, we can't wait to see you again soon, Edel, Roz and Flóki 🙂

My parents and I stayed in Kurrajong and it was super clean and really comfortable. Diana was really helpful, easygoing and accommodating to us and my puppy! We saw two kangaroos on the property within 10 minutes of our arrival. Definitely stay here if you can!

We came away to Mudgee for a girls weekend now that the covid restrictions have eased and we were so happy that we chose Bandalong. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us. What we loved was all the extra touches - tawny nightcap on arrival, coffee machine, chocolate in the fridge, card games, Bluetooth speaker. It made for perfect accommodation for a great weekend in Mudgee.

We stayed in Stringbark Cottage last week. We had a fabulous time.Katherine greated us as we drove up to the cottage. The place is so welcoming and cosy, beautifully decorated and has plenty of extra touches to make your stay really special.
Fabulously comfortable beds and crisp white linen. There wasn't a thing the girls had scrimped on. We can't wait to return to explore more of the countryside and just chill out.

We had a fantastic stay at Stringybark Cottage. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome and the attention to detail was just fantastic, including a stargazing kit and even a small serving of local port.

The cottage felt totally secluded in the bush amongst the trees but was also only a short drive to town and local wineries.

The owners organised a high chair, bath and portacot for our young son at no extra cost. Thanks so much, can't rate highly enough.

Cottages are very cosy ,beautifully well thought and equipped for all ages .

They are extremely close to the town and the owners Diana and Catherine are superhost and very friendly and accommodating .

Delayed review - couldn't post on TripAdvisor for some reason. Suffice to say this is a well run operation by Diana and Co who clearly care about the service and hard product offering. Very well located, 4 mins to town, very comfortable cabins, lots of little thoughtful touches.

My partner and I had an amazing time. Cottages were

As soon as we drove through the gates of this property on our first day, I already started to miss this place. Walking into our cabin everyday was like a big warm hug. Cabins are so cosy, clean and spacious. All the special touches were greatly appreciated. It was such a treat to see wallabies outside our cabin everyday. Will definitely return to this special place.

Gorgeous rooms on a very peaceful property, original artwork & library thoughtfully curated and a fabulous cushion collection -the sumptuous blue velvet on the bed was my favourite. Warm & cosy -wish I could stay for a week! Bird watching as the sun streamed in the morning…it’s all the attention to detail that made this a special stay at Bandalong Cottages.
