Hanging Rock Winery

My partner and I busted Hanging Rock on a Thursday morning around 11am on a stop over when heading north.

First to note is the beautiful grounds of the winery, driving through the vines on the road up you are met with a range of outdoor sculptures from abstract to figurative, on ground and suspended from trees. On a warmer day or would be a fantastic space to sit outside with a wine and food from the restaurant.

They have two fridges of their own meat and produce from animals on the farm for sale.

They have a large range of wines on offer for tasting, as seen in the photo. More reds than white, and all of great quality. Mix of prices from low $20’s to the vintage in the $60+ .

I & my friend visited there for first time around 1pm on June.
It was misty and cold weather after visited Mt. Macedon area.
The vineyard is huge.
And there were so many interesting art pieces all around the yard.

We walked in for the wine tasting.
The gentleman approached us and gave us for the wine barrow table to seat and wait. Inside wine cellar was quite busy but they actively attending to all visiters.

We had wonderful time and we enjoyed all wines.

One I like was sparkling wine.
First one on the list.
I bought a bottle for myself ;)

We were planing to do the picnic outside but it’s rain. So we asked a staff at the tent outside if we were allow to bring our picnic food under the tent area. She kindly accepted our requested.
All staff here were so friendly.
I highly recommend !!

Ok people, the full range is back. Fantastic options for all wine drinkers. Some ok, some brilliant, it's all up to you, how engaged you are about your experience and palate. Have a conversation, be honest and enjoy the experience. Join the club, it's 10% off. We made it early at 10am so no waiting at all, with plenty of time to appreciate the sculptures and scenery.

A seriously lovely experience paired with some divine wine. The service we received was warm & inviting, i also loved the platter option. What a great way to showcase the amazing fresh produce we have available to us! Can't wait to return.

Love this place! Hanging Rock Winery, what an incredible setting, beautiful range of wines (tasting was free), enjoyed the sculptures trail and the staff were awesome. Shout out to Vada who was an amazing hostess. We will be back!

Absolutely loved this place, the garden are amazing, the service spot on and we really enjoyed our wine tasting. Look forward to an advent calendar this year.

Went on the 11th Oct 2023. Had wine tastings and a cheese platter. Wine tasting was great, staff very knowledgeable. Cheese platter was amazing, so much great cheese, terrine and accompaniments for $25.

My visit to Hanging Rock Winery was special to see such a beautiful property and then to taste the wines as you over look this immaculately kept vineyard just highlighted my tasting experience. The wine is world class and a credit to the wine maker Rob Ellis and his team. Thanks for making my day so memorable.

Great service host Paul was very informative and committed to his job very happy with the service and his knowledge of the wines presented.

Had a lovely short visit here. Great wine and reasonably priced. I think I bought too many bottles to take in my luggage. I will need to drink some before I fly back.

Get yourself a glass of the sparking rose and go for a walk through the art display!
We had a fantastic time at hanging rock winery. Beautiful scenery and excellent service- special thanks to Deb who gave our group of six a fantastic wine tasting and explained each wine with great detail. Take a seat in the garden and enjoy views of the vineyard!

Great tastings, Deb was a character with interesting stories and accurate tasting notes on each wine. With a clear view to Hanging rock this is a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

They have a good selection to taste. We tasted a few Shiraz and pinots. Happy to take home a couple of bottles.

Love love this place! Come on a week day i recommend to get a wine tasting and quite spot by the fire.

Came here for wine tasting and a cheese platter. Paul gave excellent customer service, attentive and no time pressure on wine tasting.

We sampled over 10 wines with a lovely lady who's name started with V. I met so many people on the day, but this lady stood out as being so calm, kind, and informative.

Honestly one of the best wine tasting experiences I’ve ever had. Michelle was so lovely and accommodating. Wine talk plus anecdotes about the Panama papers Ummm yes please . The wine is incredible and to anyone that reads this I have something to say . Price point!!!! Highly recommended

Such a beautiful winery. Small but with a lot of ambience. Beautiful sculptures. Staff know a lot about their wines and reasonably priced.
