This is a rewarding experience I was surprised how far off the bitumen Jacobs ladder but the scenery is beautiful. The day was sunny with a light breeze so everything was perfect. We walked to the summit along paths which were gravel to rocks. It wasn’t difficult but took a bit to get to the top

Get your stuff rented out from the base including snow chain and ski gear. The road to the summit is tough. There are 3 or 4 ski lifts with tickets to be bought from there. A nice restaurant with few food options is available. Costs are higher at the summit.

Gorgeous day at Ben Lomond but sadly there was no snow except the man made stuff when we went. Highly recommend the shuffle bus to get up to the top of the mountain, the drive looked very hairy & with the shuffle bus we were there in no time & the driver also gave us some history and facts about the area. Would love to come back when there is snow!

People work here is really kind, and I would like to come again in better snow season.
We parked in the lower car park and called for the shuttle bus. Driver is really nice and stopped in the middle so that we got a chance to see and take pictures of Jacobb's ladder.

Very good place to go, snow or not. though it'll be better with snow, if there isn't heaps, they'll generally turn on the snow makers for the kids part. You can also hire boards, skiis and toboggans.
The 2 shuttles hold about 10 people each and are normally always going.

so beautiful in the late summer. It's not far from Launceston, definitely worth the visit! ❤❤❤❤

One of the most geologically beautiful/intriguing places in Tasmania/Australia. The drive leading to the national park and the drive up to the peak offer some truly breath-taking views of the surrounding country side and the amazing geological formations. The rocky and jagged rock formations truly make you feel like you're in the middle of a set from a sci-fi flick.

Beautiful place for all to see. Nice day out for the family. If going in winter bring tyre chains or you won't be driving up Jacobs ladder! I will definitely be going back again and again as the views this place offers are second to none....

Amazing and Unique experience including Jacobs Ladder Hill Climb that has some of the best scenic views all in a troopy scaling up the side of a mountain!!! A must do in Tasmania💯

Definitely worth a visit. There are toilets at the top at the campground and Jacobs Ladder is a road like no other but i won't be coming back in the ski season! The national park is beautiful and pristine like most of Tasmania and we loved the drive and the views

Spotting deer early in the morning was a spectacular experience. We did Rugged Jack trail in the Ben lomond national park, which included some scree climbing. The view from top of the mountain was very beautiful.

Shuttle bus provide to go up there. They required carry snow chains for your safety. All equipment and gear can rent in their shop. Check the weather before you go. Good for kids and beginners.

Stunning views. Careful driving up Jacob's ladder, but the view from the platform is awesome! It was a no-snow season and if we'f planned it we would like to have stayed overnight and done some bushwalking as well.

Breathtaking. In summer walking from Launceston I happened across a friends sister on a rock climbing trip (who I didn't know of previously!). We all sought refuge under a bbq table shelter after a storm came through as I was walking up to the base area. The geology is incredible as all the rocks are ancient volcanic boulders.

Went up to do the summit pre winter!! Its still cold up there lol.
Recorded temp was 3degrees.. where is summer??
Didn't make it to the top of the summit due to a 2yr old I was carrying and was starting to get dark!!
Beautiful place! Went there in August 2018 when the snow was falling and I really can't fault the place!
Customer service during the winter was amazing the staff also entertained my then 1 and half year old because she hated the cold.
And this time round we were lucky enough that there were a couple of people at the cabin doing fix ups before the winter sets in, they were also very helpful to us!!

A must see/drive while in Launceston and surrounds. Its very steep so don't take your caravan or motorhome up there. Breathtaking views and the ski resort is a welcome stop. A great day out.

Lightening bolts to the ground met us upon our cresting ascent, we kept to the path and yet our entry to the village barred. We dare not ascend the final summit peak, as the wind and biting rain found us. With our lungs fighting for more oxygen, we paced back to the edge where Jacob descended into the abyss ahead of our feeble steps.

Hey it was an awesome first visit and we will be back on a calmer day, looks like it would be awesome in snow season.
