My family and I have twice visited these caves. Although they are small, they provide one of the best learning experiences of any cave system I have visited in both Australia and South Africa. That's because Geoff takes his time to explain to his customers what they are about to see in the cave, and how to have the best experience once inside the cave.
I really like how children (and adults) can touch the different rock specimens and taste the water, in addition to exploring in a relatively safe environment. Once they leave the caves they have a firm impression of how valuable and precious caves are.
Geoff is an excellent presenter and adds a bit of humour, but also drama to the occasion - like switching off the lights, and making us aware of how our eyes adapt to the dark.
One of the best features of the cave is that you get to sit down, which means that the caves are brilliantly accessible to less mobile people, including people with disabilities.
Geoff was particularly patient and kind to my adult son who has multiple sclerosis, giving him time to reach the caves and to fully participate in the experience.
The excursion is well-priced.
The information Geoff provides to his customers before they arrive at the caves is extremely helpful as the location is isolated and there are facts one should know before making the trip.
The approach to the caves is breathtaking and makes the long journey worthwhile.
A great initiative, and one which we all thoroughly enjoyed!
I classify this experience as educational. However, if you are a thrill-seeker you need to visit any of the larger, more challenging caves Australia has to offer.

Seriously incredible. One of the best tours I have ever been apart of. Geoff is, knowledgeable, funny, quick witted and a lover of all things caves.
Our tour felt like it was Geoff’s first with his enthusiasm and professionalism. Honestly enjoyed the whole tour from start to finish.

Just make sure to book in with him, As you might not get a spot in the tour!! A must do when in Wee Jasper

When there's more reviews of the tour guide than the caves, you know your on to something.

Well, Geoff is testament- they don't make em like they used to. What an absolute pleasure, we absolutely loved our time there. He was witty, intelligent and knowledgeable- but his enthusiasm shone through second to none.

Great experience 👍 plus the caves were magnificent

I recently did a tour with my family. I was expecting that there might be one or two small underground caves and I would have been impressed with that. However, there is a HUGE network of caves and they are STUNNING. The tour guide, Geoff, is very knowledgeable and personable and ran the tour in a way that really made you pay attention to and appreciate the amazing formations. The whole experience went for about 2.5 hours and there was plenty of time to enjoy the caves. Excellent value. Family friendly. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our tour, the cave was much more than I expected (my first cave) and Geoff was full of knowledge. Lost all sense of direction and time. Great experience. Thank you Geoff!

Not sure what all the fuss about Geoff is so don't let that put you off. He was great and shared a lot of knowledge. It's old fashioned. Yes times have changed but not everyone has so just deal with it and don't blame him. Wee Jasper is a stunning town one of the most beautiful locations out here. Come have a look and enjoy the scenery. Truley amazing.
Keep it up Geoff.

By far the best cave tour I’ve done to date anywhere in Oz. Geoff goes beyond the normal speedy run through other places do and instead provides an informative view as to how the cave formations came to be. Geoff was able to cater to a wide audience, multiethnic and at various ages whilst cracking jokes with classic Australian humour. At $22 a head for adults with the knowledgeable and unique experience to be had you cannot go wrong. Phone signal is poor but Geoff is responsive by text, I managed to get on the tour by texting for info the night before. Do yourself a favour, get down to Carey’s caves for a memorable and unique experience. P.S. Geoff can also speak Spanish which further enhanced my bilingual wife’s experience.

Geoff is a very passionate cave guide, he is a lovely older gentleman who is in no rush to hurry you through the caves.

Geoff's immersive tour is just that. He spends about 30 minutes above ground encouraging group participation, and explaining that his tour is QUITE different to others. He is right.

Once you reach the floor of the caves, Geoff has arranged a seated area so that he can continue the show - please be advised - it is an ACTIVE cave, meaning it is still growing, and you may sit on a wet chair if it happens to be under a dripping stalactite. Just wipe it off and laugh!

He shows you what it would look like when it was originally discovered, with only candle flame as a source of light.

Geoff encourages you to think and participate, even allowing those who wish to taste the pure water filtered through the cave ceiling.

One of the main rules is: Do Not Touch the formations ... Luckily, Geoff has 2 tables with samples previously broken off, as well as examples of limestone from different areas of the country. This is great for kids and adults alike. You can satisfy the need to touch without causing further damage to the cave structures.

Once you have learnt about the many different formations that occur, you are free to walk around and admire the formations in each room.

In each space Geoff takes some time to explain what you are looking at.

You do need to allow time to explore. Depending on the group size, it may go up to an hour over the indicated time.

Please make sure you book ahead using the phone number provided so that group sizes remain appropriate.

Wear a 2nd layer - it is quite cool underground
Suitable footwear should be worn also

Geoff is a very passionate guide. Much appreciation to him for his dedication!

Best cave experience ever, don’t go if you’re looking for a quick walk though. That’s not Geoff’s style. He’s very passionate about what he does that must be respected. Not only was he punctual, he was also hilarious. A+ communication

We visited today and had a great time, there were a few other families and we arrived a little latter than anticipated but the guide was very accommodating. Cave is fantastic and very easy to get around in with only a few steps, they even do music events and weddings in the cave.
Amenities were nice and clean as well.

Lots of fun and very educational. Our guide Jeff was an about character, knowledgeable and a generous soul. He has a passion for all things underground that is quite astounding and one I haven't come across since I last spoke to my geologist senior high school science teacher.
The Cave itself is a sparkly delight when it is dry and also full of history which conveys extremely well. The grounds outside are gorgeous and peaceful.
A word to the wise, take a jacket down with you, it's a bit cold in the cave.

Wow. Just wow. What an experience. Everyone should explore and experience this magical and mind-blowing part of our Earth 💖💖 We see the beauty around us and above us in the stars but to witness such mystery and awe inspiring beauty underground .. it'll stay with me forever.
It's like stepping into an enchanted underground cathedral of limestone and sparkling crystal.

I've read some good and bad reviews since visiting regarding the manager and tour guide Jeff. Everyone is different .. so with that in mind just expect to possibly not agree with or appreciate some things he comments on but try not take it to heart. He is actually brilliant in the way he describes the caves and explains things .. and he is just being himself. I actually had a nice chat with him towards the end.
Be warned at one stage in the tour he turns all the lights off. This probably went on for longer than necessary when young kids were present without being properly warned it was happening. If you take your kids explain to them that it's alright when this happens and ask him for pre-warning. Taking your own torch is a good option if your child decides they want to leave so you can find your way back. This happened while I was visiting.
He does take the kids in a group seperately from the parents to view some things at times but if your child doesn't want to leave you then just keep them with you or go with them. I did even though he told me not to. My children had the most exciting time though and haven't stopped talking about it since. Be aware as well that the tours do run quite alot longer than advertised. Also even though it's mostly flat and easy to walk through inside .. it can be a bit slippery in places so wear sneakers or shoes with a good grip. They also should really do a head count before and after to make sure everyone is safely out.
If you look around as you leave 😊😊 you could spot some fossils as well. We found a few shells 🐚🐚🌍⏳

This is a once in a life time opportunity to see such amazing, magestic sculptures created over time by nature itself. Breath taking. I'll definitely be back.Thank you for taking the time Jeff to show us around your world 💖

If ever one wants to start appreciating the minute details of limestone caves and the various geological formations (surprise surprise - there are more than 2!!), Geoff is your guy to learn it from. Stupendous guide, who enriches your tour experience by a thousand times! Highly recommended, for everyone.. Oh, and the location is also beautiful!

Jeff represents the Fraser Clan well even though I'm from Clan Campbell he was an outstanding guide and went over and above our expectations.

Jeff went into great detail when describing all the aspects of his cave and you can tell he is very proud not only of the cave, but his family and his business.

I hope to have some life story's of my own like Jeff one day.

I highly recommend visiting Carey's Cave to anyone.
