The Moore Point lighthouse is the oldest surviving Commonwealth lighthouse in Western. It was also the first the first steel tower on the mainland of Australia. “The lighthouse and the lens are emblematic of the growth of a new colonial town in WA and is one of the earliest built examples of shipping infrastructure still operational in the region,” Ms O’Brien said.

“The City of Geraldton has grown up around the Point Moore lighthouse. This iconic landmark is a pivotal point in many people’s experiences and memories of daily town and nautical life in Geraldton.

“The striking red and white building has been reproduced in street sculptures, letterboxes, water fountains and logos, regularly inspiring local artists and photographers in their landscape works.”

Beautiful place to see the sunset. Lots of flies is the only downer. The lighthouse itself is amazing

A very large beach that is perfect for strolling for a whole hour, particularly in the twilight hours.

We stay for a few hours walking to the beach. The place is amazing and you can stay for one night for free.

Nice clean beach and blue sparkling water. Ideal for swimming snorkeling and beach fishing. An Osprey nest can be seen from the beach and you can get quite close and see the birds nesting.

Beautiful place to be and perfect for a time out. If your in a motor you can camp in the beach car park.
RV friendly town

This place is so stunning and very precious .
We have recently moved here and we are loving the Magnificent beauty that surrounds us.

Informative and interesting. Cant go to the top yet but the powers that be are working on it.

Interesting lighthouse, full of history. Recommend you visit when in the Geraldton area.

Free camp here in the beach front carpark, has public toilets open all night and bbqs if needed

Great beach for Dogs, Kiteboarding and you can drive onto the beach. Toilets and showers too.
