As far as the food goes I can really only describe it in one word "WOW"! If you're going to the Theatre then this place is a MUST, albeit a little hard to hear the person across from you when it's full. The staff really are attentive and do cater to your needs, so much so I was glancing around the room and one lovely wait staff came over just in case we needed anything. We'll be back next time we're at The RPT for sure!

We loved our pre theatre dinner experience! Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. They allowed us time to pace our courses (as we'd arrived quite early for our show). The show themed cocktail was super delicious! As for the two course meals - we both thoroughly enjoyed our starters (I had the Kingfish Sashimi, it was sublime, husband had the K-fried chicken, which I found a little on the dry side tbh so glad I didn't pick it - but hubby enjoyed it). Then for mains I had the lamb (YUMM!!) and my husband the Chicken Maryland - also really good! All in all a lovely experience. We'd already checked in our coats prior to eating so it was fab to just be able to go into the theatre after we finished. Highly recommend!

Three course pre-theatre menu was just the ticket. High quality, impressive and modern food - impeccably timely. Service was warm, friendly and personable. There was a pre-show buzz in the air - a great way to start the evening.

Went there at 5.45 for a pre 7.30 show at the Roselyn Packer theater. Ordered a 3-course for me and a 2-course menu for my wife who is vegan. We finished our dinner in 1h, the celeriac entree was outstanding as well as the lamb. Nice mix of Japanese and Ozzie classics (interesting the barramundi with salsa broth). Will go back again when in the hood.

Walsh Bay Kitchen is a restaurant and bar in the Rocks. Our group ordered from the pre theatre menu before a Sydney Theatre Co production. The food was sophisticated, delicious and beautifully presented (see photos). Their service was quite fast as well, which is appreciated when on a timeline!

I was a bit concerned about having our pre-show meal here after reading some of the reviews BUT I have to say I need not have been. Staff and service was terrific. Meal was very enjoyable - highly recommend the K Pop chicken for starters and the lamb rump or barramundi for mains. Had a side of yummy fries and very fresh steamed beans ! There were 4 of us at $59pp and we 5 glasses of wine between us - all around $13 each. Was great to be able to head straight into the show from the restaurant - with a takeaway coffee to enjoy out in the foyer where it was quieter than the restaurant. I'd go again for sure !

We booked in for a pre-theatre two-course meal and it was a great experience! Staff were friendly and accommodating, and our food came out in a timely fashion which was brilliant, allowing us time to not rush our meals before leaving for the show. We will be back next time we have a show to see!

Our first time at this lovely venue in Walsh bay and it ticked all the boxes. Service, food and ambience were all outstanding. The menu offers chef hand picked dishes and they are interesting and tasty. Snapper main and rice ball entrees were memorable.
Andy and his team looked after our family well and Danica our waiteress was exceptional!

Fabulous! The menu had so many delicious options - went for the kingfish and pork belly bowl - both outstanding. Intricate flavours and the wasabi jelly was something else. Dessert was very nice too. Very good service - attentive and friendly. Great value before the theatre.

Great food and great service. We ordered the $72 pre-theatre 3 course menu. The food was beautifully presented and very yum. Lots of gluten free options too.

Service here was outstanding. They've really nailed the pre theatre dining offering, and it was lovely to go back for a cocktail after the show. Will definitely be back. Make sure you book ahead when you buy your performance tickets

I've just noticed a previous review of the Salmon Tartare at Walsh Bay Kitchen. They cannot possibly be critical of this entree, it was light and delicious and so clever that it can be served so quickly pre-theatre. We attended the theatre on Friday night and with only one hour to eat and prepare for the show we found the service super quick (they seem to know that everyone needs to eat quickly), the food absolutely delicious and a great vive in the restaurant. I love the 2 courses plus a glass of wine which for me is just the right amount of food and wine before a show. There was a great vibe during intermission and after-show event celebrating and absolutely world class performance. Well done everyone!

Our party of four (two pescatarians, one carnivore and one vegan) were all impressed with the menu choices at our pre-show dinner and found their individual meals delicious.
Service was pleasant, prompt and efficient and we will certainly dine there again.

First class! Running late, we popped in hoping they could provide us with a light meal before the show. We were seated with menus in no time at all. Our order was taken and meal eaten within 30 minutes! We had time to sit and enjoy our drinks, let our meal digest and talk before we found our seats. Service was fabulous, meal delicious! Highly recommended!

Eaten here many times in the last couple of years and have to say food is outstanding. Had the pre theatre menu which is great value and service is good and quick always.

The food and service from our wait staff Souri was exceptional. The food was really delicious. Souri was friendly, patient, cheerful and efficient - just really good at her job - thank you!

So easy to find delicious food right next door to the Theatre. Booked in advance, parked at the front door. We shared the beef platter and it was fabulously spicy, ample for two, followed by the Banana panna cotta - add a dash of wine and away we went. Staff are very professional, friendly and attentive, dare I say posh, maybe even poshe! Thanks for setting off a wonderful night!
