Oceans Basket

My experience at Oceans Basket was truly delightful, thanks to their incredible fish burger! This burger is not for the faint-hearted; it's huge and bursting with flavor. The fish was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, complemented by fresh lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a generous dollop of Tartare sauce, all sandwiched between soft, toasted buns.

What impressed me the most was the quality of the ingredients. The fish was clearly fresh and of high quality, and the overall combination of flavors was simply divine. The portion size was more than generous, ensuring that every bite was satisfying.

The service was also excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my order was ready in no time.

We've gotten Fish n Chips from here a few times now and never disappointed. The fish is beautiful and Chips nice and crunchy. Staff have always been friendly. I love the convenience of being able to order online too.

So firstly I thought I’d jump on read reviews before ordering and I’d like to say despite reviews that was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had thank you and service wonderfull

This is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Everything from the prawn scallops, calamari, chips, fish, down to the sauces are absolute perfection. Highly recommend this business. This is the third tile we have ordered from them and it’s always been perfect. Also great service and friendly, bubbly smiles! Keep up the good work guys!

love this place, the menu is diverse and caters for gluten free! the service is great, and staff make a great atmosphere.

In all honest I had given up on trying to find good fish and chips until someone told me about this place. We ordered one of their Tinny packs, were told there was a wait of 20 minutes as there was only one person on and when we arrived the lady told us she had made a mistake. In all honesty I thought this was going to be another average experience but the lady offered us ways in which to rectify this without any excuses.
The meal itself was delicious, all of the seafood was fresh, tasty and battered perfectly. The chips were golden brown and there was enough volume to have a large lunch and a small dinner for two of us. Absolutely fantastic food with brilliant service, the best takeaway experience I have had in a long time. Please keep it up guys.

We drove from South Mackay to Bucasia (past multiple fish and chip shops) to try the food at the Ocean Basket because we had heard good things about the place. Sadly now we will need to continue to do this until they open a store closer to us!!!

We ordered our usual 1 x crumbed fish 1 x grilled fish and a small chip........the price seems to be standard and not overly expensive. This was our first time in the store so we had a look around, its a small place but nice and clean and well maintained.

Our meal was served up promptly by a friendly young lady with a smile, we went down to the beach and to eat.........well, this was something else. The chips were golden brown and super crunchy, the fish was cooked to perfection, light crispy crumbed and the grilled fish seasoned and cooked perfectly. The only way to get chips and crumbed fish this good is to have hot, clean and good quality oil which they must have. One small negative was the chips portion was a little small, maybe it was just that I wanted more.

Overall HIGHLY recommended and cant wait to return for some more of their great fish and chips, we cant go back to soggie chips after this!!

Do yourself a favour and try their Harry burger. But be warned it is HUGE, could share or skip lunch and have it for dinner. The staff are wonderful and friendly even though they were extremely busy. Order ahead to save a bit of wait time.

Frequently good quality/ consistent. On occasion I've had a battered fish on the dry side, but generally, quality is pretty good here.

The best gluten free fish and chips I've ever had and the value is best in Mackay. Hands down. 10 out of freaking 10.
