Chargrill Charlie's Annandale

Food is always great! I especially love their salads. We had the shredded chicken and green beans & avocado salads, but I also love going there for their Japanese coleslaw. The roasted chicken and the devil wings are really tasty, and the Pad Thai was also surprisingly very good! The service is not the best but we never had any issues so far.

Four stars for the Thai chicken because it was a bit tough (see photos) but 5 stars for the business. They have everything covered.

From salads to meats to deserts to nice friendly staff, clothing to a pleasant place to eat with good background music, Charcoal Charlies makes eating a sensory experience.

We even got a visit from a local bird looking for leftovers (see video)

So many salad choices! And hot food too. This place makes me happy. Room for seating too.

I have been told by a lot of people how great this place is and eventually got around to going with family.

Good amount of seating available and a lots of food options. Burger and chips are great, they include a mountain of chips which are addictive.

Red and family loved the roast chicken. Greek lemon and herb chicken was the standout. Salad and sweet potato chips were also delicious.

Tip for new comers, find the sauce station and fill up on the piri piri and Thai herb sauces.

We will definitely go back again soon.

Loved this chicken shop. So much varieties on the menu and they are all very delicious. They do mostly chicken, but does have beef burger, grilled lamb, salads and dessert too so not just your ordinary chicken shop. They restaurant is very clean, well lit and decorated. The staffs were also very friendly. Recommended!

A good choice when you need some tasty chicken to keep you going. This family restaurant has been pleasing locals for many years and provides some great salads to accompany your chicken and chips.

Chicken dinner is always a winner in my eyes (and yummy).

I love a good chargrill chicken and chip shop, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally try this place. With various branches in Sydney, I visited the Annandale branch.

Let’s talk about the chargrilled chicken, I ordered a whole extra large one, the chicken is super moist and juicy, the herbs and seasoning will make your mouth water and tummy grumbling for more!

Sydney's most favourite chicken joint CHARGRILL CHARLIE'S opened their doors in Annandale.

I love their wide selection of freshly made salads, daily specials on any kind of meaty meals, vegetarian dishes, served with next level customer service. Friendly staff and very tidy eat in area.

Homemade food comes here with a lot of love.

This place will replace your lunch and dinner habits!

I am a big fan of Charlie's for the consistent quality of food. The chicken is always juicy & tender, love the huge range of salads - i love the superfood & chopped salads, love the french fries, huge schnitzels & best crispy wedges!! (Normal potato and sweet potato!) There is also lots of other dishes to please everyone including fried rice, pad thai, hot chicken wings & sticky chicken skewers.

Seriously, this has a menu where I want to try everything. The sweets are made with love and they are all made for sharing or for solo grazing.
Their chips and roasts are truly as good as if you made them yourself! Try their Tiramisu and/ or their rice pudding.
Eating in? Great idea. They buy some more for tomorrow and take some more sweets.

Walking into a place with a reputation commands an expectation that many don't live up to in this age of overhyped plentiful food. Chicken shops are a dime a dozen in Sydney so after a recommendation from a respected foodie friend, it's better deliver. I usually review after the second helping to measure consistency.

Charlie's is a clever take on the traditional chicken shop.
Firstly the chicken.
Delicious, succulent chargrilled chicken that's well seasoned and not over salty or oily.
They have a Rediculous amount of choice and most are catered for including vegetarian.

I settled for a chicken dinner, but it's not just run of mill. You get 3 choices of sides (a meal on Thier own). Delicious Mediterranean roast vegetables, Pad Thai noodle (really good too) cheesy cauliflour, salads, roast potatoes...to name a few.
I had Mediterranean vegetables, cheesy cauliflour and pad Thai noodles. I asked for gravy on my chicken (no charge). All cohabiting deliciously on a tin dish (a great choice that's homely and reusable)

Verdict:
It was delicious, plentiful and fresh. Service was great, friendly and helpful. Decor is cool, clean and pleasent with some not too intrusive music playing. I can see this place gets busy so that may frustrate Some. For any foodie it's a great sign.

Price:
Under $20 for dinner considering the choice was extremely good value. I rate this place. It's a food destination that's more that just a takeway. They're serving up chicken with a twist.

Lovely Spanish Chicken with Rice a must try. The Honey glazed potatoes were fresh and hot. The owner was lovely, great customer service with a smile. Will be back.

There is a tall blonde girl who's name is Charley. She is one of the nicest people I have ever talked to, she asked about my day and made sure my order was perfect. There used to be a girl who looked very similar to Charley, I believe her name was Phoebe and I haven't seen her in a while. She was lovely and had impeccable customer service skills. I hope to see her again soon.

Always great food here, come hungry and you'll leave full and also have some leftovers to take home.

Half chicKen, 3 vegetables and gravy is an absolute favourite!

Omg!!! The best uber meal I have ever had....Actually,, one of the best meals period iv ever had.....so fresh full of flavour, generous n bloody yum.. not n just the chips but everything,,, wow wow...

Exceeded expectations.

Received a voucher in the mail for a discount. Redeemed on a family chicken, chips and chop salade. From the moment I entered the restaurant I was salivating. Tho fast fare the restaurant feels almost gourmet. Service was friendly, eager, and fast. All the food tasted fresh, flavourful and delicious. We enjoyed every last bite.

Would recommend this spot. Expect to spend $20 per person.
