Fantastic playground within Federal Park. Sand pit, swings, jungle gym and equipment for kids of all ages.

Unfortunately, the flying fox is closed at the moment.

Toilets located nearby.

It's very nice after the renewal. All the new equipment. Nice place to relax with your kids playing in the playground.
The skate ramp is good for older kids.

Pretty good park - big enough to have lots of different things to do. Toilets are a lengthy walk away and are poorly signposted.

After two years of decontamination, remediation and building, the new park opens. Far bigger, far more adventurous than before. For kids over 10 this park is good - and the skate park is tip top…. However, there are some major issues, especially for anyone with smaller kids, or more than one kid to supervise. There is no outer fence - this means two things. 1. Small kids can just escape. “Watch your kids you say”. But the park design is long and thin and has very bad sight lines. Kids just disappear. 2. DOGS. Next to the off dog area, dog owners have zero consideration that this is a kids park. Dogs of every size and excitement level run through continuously. Some kids are freaking out.
These could be fixed by some further simple fencing/landscaping but I doubt it’ll happen.

A great adventure park with lots of slides of different sizes a big sand pit and big swings.

There is a great flying fox but while I was there yesterday the wire broke while two children were riding on one together. They both fell. It was very worrying as although no one was badly hurt it was very frightening. They should not have been on it together. They were older children about 14 and maybe 11 and probably too heavy for the wire. The boy was hit on the head with the metal mechanism and fortunately had his cycle helmet on and apart from being shaken he was ok. I contacted the council to let them know and they said someone would come down to attend to it.

Very close to a free running dog park area with dogs running through the playground often and scaring some children plus knocking the little ones over sometimes. It is a big playground with a poor sightline if you're trying to look after more than one child. The children can run off to go and play on another piece of equipment and be out of sight in seconds.
With that said it is lots of fun and the children enjoy it immensely.

Too busy. Due to the Mirvac redevelopment of Harold Park; what used to be a fantastic park and children play area is now extremely busy and in fact I wouldn’t consider it COVID-safe at certain times during the weekends. The major flaw of this park is the fence is way too low, in fact it is redundant to protect our children and local children from dogs who can easily jump over the fence! And there are ALOT of dogs in the area. Off leash too. The council’s plan to be ‘inclusive’ has really been at the expense of toddler’s and children’s safety. Could you even call it a fence? It’s more of a ‘garden decorative barrier?!’ Ridiculous.

Welcome to the new age of safetyism.. Practically zero percent of the equipment can be used by a child under 6 and a lot even older without adult help. I'm 6.3 and I have to jump to get on the flying fox. Most of the slides are the same. Almost all the equipment has been designed so a child cannot use it without an adult lifting them onto it. The slides all have long flat dismount panels so you can't fall off the end. But they'll be caked in dirt and rust within a year or so because they catch all the leaves and dust.

I bet this looked AMAZING on paper. Go to Strathfield Park instead if you can!

No fence against dogs and several parents with dogs come and even put the dog in the sand pit.

Incredible!
