ZEN Japanese Restaurant

I have been to this establishment many many times and so happy I have also bought my parents here many times.

I Highly recommend getting the hotpot it’s my favourite. don’t expect the extreme flavour bomb from other style hot pot, it’s very nice and mild and reminds me of many meals I’ve had whilst traveling Japan. The eggplant was also a great dish to try, this is a flavour bomb.

All other dishes are also very very delicious so there is something for everyone. Sushi and sashimi delicious.

Staff are awesome too, very charming little restaurant.

Hidden gem in Subi

It was a quite early night ready for meal , this restaurant stuck in middle of street Renvation for the last 5 months and still going for another 2 months, it's hard on the owners ,food amazing great chef services excellent and pleasant Every dish I ordered delicious,

A sweet local little Japanese Restaurant hidden away from the main drag of Subiaco. Food is always good and quick also the staff are so kind and patient. They love it when you ask them what they recommend and the owners always remember you. I recommend the Ox tail and the miso soup!

Seafood hotpot is such a comfy food during winter and the taste is 10/10! Lady boss and the chef are lovely and friendly! 🥰 Highly recommended! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Extremely friendly staff able to accomodate a large group of people. Had a great night out and food was great, albeit a little pricey. Would definitely recommend!!

Zen Japanese is by far the freshest Sashimi quality you can expect in any local Japanese restaurants without the hefty price like high-end dining such as Nobu. Every dishes here is beautifully presented with amazing flavours and cooked to perfections. Was introduced to this place by my partner and have been here multiple times since. The owner, Hideki, is very lovely & friendly. Zen Japanese is officially my favourite Japanese dining place in Perth to satisfy those Japanese cuisine cravings. I highly recommend this place as a must try and will definitely be returning more often with family and friends :) Thanks Hideki and staff!

My oh my...I've not had a better ramen not even in Japan!!!
Been coming here for years then I moved. My first stop when come for holiday. The good is always excellent and the owner is the best most friendly person you can meet. Love love love this place!!!

The food was amazing! We ordered the vegetarian sushi, vegetable gyoza, tempura vegetable and agedashi tofu plus rice and miso soup (which my partner said was the best miso they’ve ever had)- everything was incredible! I loved the decor in the restaurant and the service was 10/10. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends! :)

Fish quality is awesome especially if you want sashimi.

The presentation and portion of the food was very nice and generous. Service was excellent too. Will definitely come back again.

A great spot hidden in the carpark in the heart of Subiaco. Plenty of seating indoors and clean toilets.

The food options were plentiful, and the large sashimi plate was great! Katsu chicken was good, and stick rice yum yum!

Loved the cold beer glasses with the beer on tap!

Lovely sashimi in a refined dining environment. The dragon and rainbow rolls are masterfully crafted and taste extremely fresh.

The best sashimi I’ve ever had in Perth. We ordered the assorted sashimi medium and added the blue fin tuna special. It was really fresh! The blue fin tuna melted in my mouth ☺ The takoyaki dish was good too, not too salted. Average price but outstanding flavour. I will definitely be back!

Delicious food with good service in a nice, comfortable setting.

Fairly good Japanese food, definitely above average and worth a visit. The service was really good as was the ambience. Food is prepared as required by the table so is fresh.

The sake range is a little limited however very good. I would say the Miso Cod championship is still owned by Nobu though.

Still want to try more on the menu.
