Awesome trail hike. Took about 5 and a bit hours in total, starting from the Jarrahdale (cemetery) side, and skipping the bit near the end of the Serpentine side lol.

Beware that some parts of the trail are really narrow (single file) and can become muddy and slippery depending on the time of year, felt like I could have potentially twisted my ankle a couple of times on uneven ground.

For the most part it was a fairly well marked trail although some areas had to ask someone for directions. No toilets on the Jarrahdale side. Note: this a return trail, no loop

This was a great walk! It was a 15km round trip and I personally recommend starting at the dam end. Why, you ask??

Well.
1. There are toilets and a nice picnic area with grass, BBQ's and kangaroos.
2. You can start and end at the dam (so nice to swim in!)
3. Yes, you are going uphill 7.5km to the serpentine cemetery carpark where you turn around...but then you are going down hill 7.5km to end!! (Speaking from experience of doing the downhill first...definitely the wrong way!)

The only consideration is that you need to have a national parks pass to park at the dam end. 🔥 TIP...you can get a discounted one if you are with RAC!

The trail is narrow and is very varied as it goes through pine forest, bush scrub, along creeks, rocks, gravel, fields etc. It is certainly not a boring track! Even in late November, there were some good flowers and greenery around. A lot of the track is in shade which is nice.

I loved swimming at the dam. Very refreshing!

The only negative❗was that the track needs a prune back!! I like a narrow trail for sure and getting into nature, but I don't enjoy getting scratched by thorny bushes and attacked by sticks. Coming into snake 🐍 season, it is also a safety concern to not be able to see where you are putting your feet!

Beautiful level 4 trail 😍 I really enjoyed the hike, took us 2 hrs 25 mins to hike 7.25 kms and yes we only hiked one way as we got there too late, my 6 yr old powered through like a champ! We parked one car at the cemetery then drove to the entrance. Definitely one of my favourite hikes so far 😊

Great trail. We did the 1.5km loop which was perfect. Lots to look at on the way - we went on a wet weather day. Recommend not wearing your good sneakers as a few spots were quite muddy. Overall very easy trail with some steep bits. Quiet enough, we passed 4 other families/couples/walkers during our 1hour there.

Rated this trail 5 stars for sure! Hidden gem!

A class 4 walk trail that include rough ground and some steep sections. These tracks are suggested for people with experience bush walking, mostly uneven surfaces.

At the begging of the track, bump into a 10m height of acacia tree (golden wattle)!

A delight to walk — lush forest, wildflowers and sitting on the granite rock (next to the falls) for a coffee break!

Parked next to the Jarrahdale cemetery. A 3.5km walk to waterfalls and back on same track to carpark, instead of heading to serpentine falls.

Nice, shaded, single track walk. Most parts suitable for a trail run

What a great walk! My wife and I did this today, 16 klm return. We started at Jarrahdale cemetery. Took us just over four hours. Easy parking at start of trail, no toilets facilities until you get to Serpentine Falls end. Parking at falls end is very nice, but looks like it fills up pretty quick, we got there about 10:30am and the place was pretty busy, lots of people setting up to use BBQ and seating areas, really nice spot.. The walk itself is great, awesome country and given the time of year we went, the water was really flowing, great sets of falls at multiple areas along the way. You cross the creek/river multiple times with good foot bridges installed. Bird life was awesome, blue rens were a highlight. Saw Kangaroo's and of course two joe blakes (see pic). One was right across the trail the other was moving pretty fast once he heard us. My wife and I are in our fifty's, she had a few rests on a couple of the uphill parts, but by no means a "fit" person and we did it no worries! We did have good hiking boots, take lots of water and some food, there is none at either end unless you go into Jarrahdale itself. Highly recommend!

A mother nature treasure... the rainfall we have had created the stunning waterfall at Kitty's Gorge... perfect hiking/running trails and you just have to get out there to soak it all up

Park your car at Jarrahdale cemetry then follow the signs with a green boot print to serpentine falls. The trail is well marked and an interesting bush walk. Make sure you have footwear with decent grip on the sole as parts of the path can be slippery. The walk took us a 2 hours each way and we stopped for about an hour at the falls. Total time was 5 hours.

Absolutely stunning walk. Takes a good hour, worth parking a car at each end. One near jarrahdale cemetary and one at serpentine

Beautiful work - would be even better in spring when there's a bit of water flowing down the bank.

Amazing!! We took our toddler who walked most of the way. We went from top to bottom but there was still areas to hike up and down. Toddler had to be carried in the back pack for some parts which were quite rocky and narrow. There was a couple of open look outs which were really pretty. Overall a fantastic hike.

An absolutely beautiful walk trail along the Serpentine River through Kitty's Gorge. Can be done in either direction from Serpentine Falls to Jarrahdale cemetery or vise versa. Great boardwalks and old campsites on the way with fantastic flora and fauna. Definitely worth a visit during spring for the wildflowers.
