Bistro by the Dam

This is my second visit to the Bistro. First time I had a burger which was amazing. This experience I shared some hot chips and garlic bread with balsamic while family got a chips and hotdog, steak sandwich and a grilled chicken salad. Everyone was really happy with their food. The atmosphere was perfect as it was late afternoon and not to busy. We chose to sit inside facing the dam as there are lots of P28s outside that we felt may make it hard to enjoy our meal fully. If your a bird person this would be amazing as they come up close and sit on the balcony and landings. Tables were a great size for 5 people as we weren't eating overtop of one another. Service was lovely and the weather was nice. Plenty of parking and there are some works underway for a new playground. I was even able to spot some of the old lions minties on my way out which I had to buy to complete the evening. The road to the bistro is about 10 minutes inland with a forrest scenic drive. No animals while we were driving. Easy to find our way back to the main road to head home.

Food superb, can highly recommend the buttermilk chicken burger, but watch the spicy sauce! Delicious but you know you are alive 😆, service was great, atmosphere awesome. We will be back.

My first visit, hope to keep visiting several times a year. Adult family breakfast was had on the covered terrace, overlooking the dam. Lovely weather, chilly breeze, made us wish we had worn a jacket, no problem, unasked we were all offered Wraps, which accepted gratefully. Most impressed with happy, helpful staff, food and views.

Had the Cauliflower Pappardelle with grilled chicken and it was amazing. My guests very happy with the gnocchi and chicken burger.
Front staff were welcoming and also thanked us as we left . Beautiful view from our table across the dam . Look forward to seeing the playground and amenities completed .

This place was absolutely devine the majestic backdrop of the crystal blue water captured by our great serpentine dam was lovely. Set back on the hill side of the dam there's plenty of shade provided by the lage trees witch provide a natural habitat for the wildlife there's an abundance of small finches and other birds to be heard while you sip away on a delicious hot chocolate or what ever it is you divulge in they also do meals and are fully licensed will definitely be back here it was a beautiful surprise to find just out of the Jarrahdale area

Seriously look no further than "Bistro by th Dam' - Outstanding, relaxaxed, peaceful, amazing atmosphere and let's not forget the truly amazing selection of meals and drinks! As a group we were extremely impressed beyond our expectations of this Bistro! We can't thank the Manager, Kylie enough for making us feel so welcome and the professionalism of the staff here. The food and drinks were fantastic and the service we received was second to none! We will definitely be back many times. Totally wonderful experience 😊

The most peaceful tranquil place for a beer, coffee and awesome meals. Service is top notch. Love bringing the dogs to sit on verandah - make sure you book as outside tables are popular.

New owners have done a great job renovating this place. Went on cold rainy day, fire was going and it was warm in there.
Really nice variety for those needing g/f (and separate fryers!). Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Food was really tasty and very prompt service. Warm quinoa roast pumpkin salad was more than enough for 2 of us to share. Home made sweet potatoe fries were really yum!! Enjoyed the g/f cakes too!!

Fantastic place for nature lovers. Come at meal times if you want to eat with kookaburras. Sit outside, and they will join you on the railing. Nice surroundings looking out to the dam from the outside seating. Just gourd your CHIPS.

I loved this place ❤ lovely owners are so welcoming and the coffee was outstanding 👌. This is a great place to bring the elderly as they can enjoy the peaceful views and feed the birds. Warm environment in winter. Ample wheelchair access and parking. Highly recommend😃

Friendly old world service, cheerful food, tasty coffee made to order and a spectacular view.

The team here are welcoming and friendly. The food tasty and fresh. I had "the dam chicken burger" (sic) which Wasa great portion size filled with its bacon and crumbed chicken and salad. Hot chips with a healthy amount of salt completed the dish.

And it was really nice to see they have appropriate food for the neighbours (seed for the birds).

Will definitely be coming back, and bringing more people here, as it's a great place to visit.

What an absolute gem in my own backyard. The menu had so many gluten free options, which I'll definitely mention on ,"Eating Gluten Free" pages.
When 1 person in a couple must have gluten free, it can be very hard finding a place to suit. It's usually the same option available.... Grilled fish and salad.
Sadly, the gf chicken parmi wasn't available today, but the gf calamari was delicious. I had the salmon, which was great too. Topped off, with a gf beer. 😁

Loved it. Awesome friendly owners and workers. Amazing menu and food. I had Frittata and salad...Yum! Huge rooms,atmosphere and music was perfect and such beautiful scenery to sit and look at.

Such a nice spot for lunch to sit and look over the dam. The service was quite quick, and the birds loved to sit on the fence just nearby. Even appreciated the venue providing Fly spray and Areoguard to help with the flies. Such a lovely venue

Beautiful staff, great service, food and views, always accommodating, would highly recommend for lunch and a nature walk, great destination for a group motorbike ride.... book a table if your heading up for a weekend lunch 😀

Stopped off for brunch (pre 1130am) and was offered the full menu choice. We had lovely meals, try the chicken burger as I am sure it won’t disappoint. Old school table service where my husbands empty plate was left until I had finished my meal. Prices were very reasonable, staff where friendly and the view is spectacular. Was well worth the visit.

Nice tranquil environment very spacious inside with a variety of seating available and hand sanitizer at the counter. There is even a wood fire to sit near on the cold crispy days. There are beautiful art pieces created by locals, honey to purchase and even has a little children's play area inside. Ability needs ramps at doorways and two toilet blocks one ability access off the cafe and a second simplistic style off the Carpark. Beautiful walk ways down to the dam. Plenty of space in the carpark with a bus bay near the entrance. Friendly staff and nice food too.

Wonderful relaxed rainy day weekend lunch, giving off Down South vibes! Happy to see a new business in this great location, I’ll be back!
