Moving to Melbourne at the start of 2022 I didn’t know anyone and was a little apprehensive. I was so glad to have moved into a space with a community vibe and regular events run by the residents life manager Isobel. The house also has a really diverse culture with international students and exchange students. I have genuinely enjoyed living at Lisa Bellear House, and made the best memories and friends here. Thank you!

While being more expensive than alternate destinations for living LBH is worth the money, at least for the cheaper rooms. The rooms are quite small for the price but the location of the accomodation and the event highly compensate for that.

Isabelle is the event organiser at LBH and she has enhanced the quality of the events and the amount of them. We have a weekly dinner and breakfast as well a diversity of creative and active events where anyone can start making new friends, enjoy snacks and have a fun time. This is what makes the price of LBH worth it in my eyes as I have met a great friend group.

This place is perfect for new students in melbourne as it allows you to meet a diverse community and find your place with new friends in a very different environment to high school. The community is international with both exchange, international and local students. My friend group of 11 people come from 10 different countries.

The community at Lisa Bellear House is exceptional. The events are inclusive and have a wide variety. Isobel in particular is super helpful and goes above and beyond to make all students feel welcome, safe and at home at Lisa Bellear House

Room was tidy when I first moved in.
Many amenities available including a coffee machine in the kitchen and a ping pong and 8ball table for games.
Communal spaces are spacious and perfect for gatherings with friends for entertainment/productivity purposes.
The community is lively and tight-knit.

Very friendly staff who are always happy to help out. There is also a variety of events that suit everyone. Overall a very good experience and would definitely recommend this place to future students of unimelb!

I have truly enjoyed my stay in LBH. I wouldn’t have met as many wholesome people as I did if I hadn’t stayed here. It has a wonderful international community and it is very supportive.

LBH’s weekly events helped me de-stress, take my mind off Uni work at times, and meet new people!

LBH’s location is great for students, in my opinion. It’s only ten minutes away (walking) from UniMelb and two minutes away from the closest tram stop, which can either take you straight to CBD (on the South) or straight to Brunswick (on the North) where you can go grocery shopping or buy all the essential stuff you need for your stay.

The two things that are imperfect about LBH, for me, is the room size and its price. But it’s been worth it, for me.

One of the best places for students to socialise at the early stages of their arrival. With comfortable living conditions and a friendly staff, I would recommend a visit to LBH

This place has a lack of consideration for its guests - to start off with, there is an absence of air conditioning in the rooms. Residents are left with only a small electrical fan to get them by in the incredibly hot Melbourne summers, leaving many sleeping in the COMMUNAL KITCHEN, as that is the only place relatively cool in temperature. The mattresses are not cleaned or replaced after every few residents, and they come with stains of human excrements. Despite such abhorrent conditions, the price reflects more that of a luxury CBD Melbourne apartment, especially considering that it takes approximately 20 minutes to travel from the accommodation to the city centre. If you are deciding on coming to Melbourne and would like to stay in this university accommodation, I strongly advise you to reconsider your choices.
