Banyule Flats Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Banyule Flats has multiple off-lead ovals and 3 fields inside the reserve, though two are just off the Main Yarra Trail near Banyule Tennis Club, there is a much larger field deeper in the Reserve less known that may take some exploring to find.

All the fields do have some fencing to keep dogs off the main trail and out from the animal reserves, though most of the bush is not and dogs should have good recall.

Wombats and Kangaroos are commonly seen in the area and snakes are regular spotted in the hotter months of which we avoid using the area or keep dogs on lead only.

There is a trail along the Yarra River you can explore with your dog with some small trails to the River and creeks, though these are difficult to get down. This trail is also regular used by cyclists on weekends and can be a little busy so best keep your dog close.

This is a great place for dogs if they are not prey driven and have good recall. Its best avoid this in the hotter months, but is a must see.
