Gin Palace

I didn't eat, I came here for some drinks to honour my husband who passed away last week.
The staff here have treated me like family knowing why I am here. The service is perfect, professional and knowledgeable while being friendly and courteous.
I am having an Eat Pray Love hiatus after the loss of my husband, and I am convinced that he would have loved coming here!
Posh Spice would have been his favourite. Spicy and smoky and just delicious!

Bella was lovely, patiently introduced us many options and we loved her recommendations. I like ‘Life’s a beach’ particularly. Will come back!

The bartender recommended us marvellous gins. My dad absolutely loved his (it was a Scottish gin with lime) and we are going back again tomorrow. We adored the atmosphere, and the secretness of it all. The service was lovely, and my gin was the Strawberry and Cream which had an orange slice at the bottom - it had a lovely slice of raspberry white chocolate on top. It tasted quite citrusy but also had the sweet taste of the pink gin and white chocolate (I am new to gin, and this fit my taste buds). Would absolutely recommend.

I’ve been searching for a bar like this for 2yrs, across 3 cities. Can Google please let me select a 6th Star?
I’ll be spending a lot of time here when next in Melbourne.

First time trying a gin bar in Melbourne.
Very cozy place with this decorations, music and ambience.
I tried a Japanese Negroni, which could have done with a little less Campari.
Will try the Gin Zombie next time for sure.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice little spot underground with good cocktails. G&Ts are on the pricey end but there’s a selection of seasonal cocktails which are great. Has a few quirky elements throughout and service was nice and friendly too!

Well what a find this place was!! Love my Gin but this place, well hidden that it is, takes it to another level. I credible range of Gin and Sam our waiter was incredible. Even if you don't drink Gin it's well worth the visit if for nothing else than to taste the toasted chicken sandwich!

Jamie was an exceptional host and had great knowledge of all the drinks we tried. He recommended drinks for us based on our tastes and everything was fantastic. I'll be coming back here to try food asap!

Stopped here for a pre dinner and theatre drink. Great little place, nice ambiance and the nightfall cocktail was delicious!

So. Much. gin! Outstanding variety but also staff actually know their stuff so well!!! Visited two nights in a row. Recommend talking to staff and getting their advice about which Gins to try. Ask for a deconstructed tasting.

Excellent customer service. Logan and his team are very knowledgeable when it comes to Gin and helping you find a drink you will like.
The Vesper was a good introduction to Martini's and the Charcuterie Board was a good accompaniment.

Wonderful cocktail place that opens until late. My recommendation would be the Japanese negroni with their famous chicken sandwich with bacon salt! Thank you for taking a good care of us Jaires, loved your friendly service and humor.

Update after a few months in Jan 2023: the place still does a banger of chicken sangas and the craft beer (pale ale) is amazing as well.

Came for a pre dinner drink. Always feel so classy and luxurious when I come here. This time, given it was Negroni week had an Australian Negroni and it was delicious. One of my friends had some and loved his. My non drinking friend was made to feel equally welcome and special, the bar staff asked about her flavour preferences and made a supers mocktail for her. Not cheap but certainly worth it. Highly recommended.

Mum is the gin queen so I thought I’d take her to her spiritual home for a few drinks - the Gin Palace! We had a lovely evening with friendly service and extensive range of gins and drinks to choose from. Served in a balloon glass, my gin was too good and went too quickly. Lovely ambience at the venue - highly recommend

Been here a few times. Never disappointed by their amazing staff, lovely decor, delicious drinks. Jamie i believe the name was of our server tonight and what an absolute gem of a person. Super friendly, hospitable, regularly checked in if we were doing ok, recommended us food and drinks based on our likes and we loved it all.

I tried the Melbourne Gin Company(I think it’s the name) and Gin zombie. Great place to have some gin. My friend’s drinks were also good but no strong enough as those I ordered. The meat plate was awesome. Very rich and different flavour for three kinds of meat. I think they have a 1hr30min limit due to the COVID-19. The service is good too

Gin palace was the first bar I came to in Melbourne 8 years ago and I’ve been going back ever since. Friendly staff. Excellent drinks list and the best chicken sandwich you’ll ever have!

A amazing little bar with a beautiful ascetic and classy vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The drinks were really well made and fairly priced. The food was also surprisingly really good. I would highly recommend this place!
