We absolutely loved our stay. The service was brilliant and so friendly. We had 6 adults, 2 kids and a dog and all got to reconnect and enjoy the Flinders Ranges over Easter 2024. We stayed at campsite 5 near Bull Ant Hill and had so much room. The campsite was perfectly laid out, spacious and shady. A great safe space for kids to explore and ride dirt bikes. The nights were 'nature' silent and it's so rare to not hear your noisy neighbours. This property is so nicely spread out. We did the 4WD track on the property on Easter Sunday and absolutely think it was worth it. The views took our breath away. The track is medium difficulty, challenging without being too stressful. We had ALL seasons with an unusually hot Easter Friday to Sunday and then an evening 'dump' of rain on Sunday night. It rained so hard so quickly it was a mad scramble to pack some things up. The campsite drained so well soon after and puddles disappeared. This did not dampen our experience whatsoever, instead had muddy kids who ran around in the rain laughing with excitement. Had great day trips to Hawker & Quorn with lots of scenic stops along the way. Can't wait to come back. Thanks Almerta Team!

We absolutely loved our stay at Almerta, we stayed at lenas cam which was a big flat secluded campsite with plenty of shade amongst the gums and stunning scenery all around. Great facilities and plenty to see and explore. Will absolutely visit again.

Shane was so responsive and accomodating from the get go. Her easy smile and engaging manner was wonderful and her easy going nature helped make our stay even more wonderful.
We camped in Redcliffs at Almerta station and the view in the morning of Bull Ant Hill and the Red cliffs at night was amazing. The campsites are big enough for a few families spread out.
The 4WD track was a tough enough challenge and the views were breathtaking. Highly recommend this, just make sure to go in a group, have a radio and put your tyre pressure down.
Lots of beautiful walks along the creek and hills. Emus and Kangaroos to watch.
I would highly recommend staying in one of their remote campsites. What made it great for us was also the ability to have our dogs with us. Thank you Almerta!

Shane the host is lovely. We had a large group of adults and children which were easily catered for. The campsite is private and well set up with toilet, fireplace and bins. They can even drop off a load of firewood direct to your camp. The station itself has a lot of places to explore, we particularly loved the 4WD track up and through Mt James and the Natural Springs. Only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

Booked the shearers quarters and some campsites for my 30th birthday and it was absolutely perfect. Patrick and Shane go above and beyond while helping with details like food, drink, ice and even offered to help find some local musicians.
A personalised welcome and bday message on arrival explains the way these lovely people run this place. It's welcoming and friendly for all ages with views and secluded little natural springs to die for (with water still there in the middle of summer) . We had guests from 10 months old to 60 and they all couldn't believe the beauty of the place.
We all can't wait to come back and visit the many camping spots we found.
Cannot thank you both and the team enough for letting me celebrate in such a beautiful place
You'll no doubt see me again soon :)

Stayed in the Shearer's quarters twice this year and loved it both times. Accommodation is simple but fits well with the station, with a big kitchen and games room.

Shane and the family were very welcoming, and we're looking forward to the cottage being finished for another visit.

An amazing place to get away from civilization. The campsite was a couple of kilometers from the main house. The campsite had a fire pit, firewood and a long drop dunny for that authentic camping experience. Kangaroos would often come quite close to our campsite. Showers and toilets near the main house were spotless. The owner, Shane, was very helpful and friendly. Definitely the best location we stayed at on our epic road trip. Would definitely stay again.

Top spot to relax with dog. Shane and Patrick are very generous people to share their property. Cheers

Bush camping, total seclusion but with the reassurance of knowing there are people about 2 kms away.
Pit toilet, rubbish bins and camp fire site provided. Good level site for a camper trailer. Located on the dry watercourse with lovely old river red gums all around.
Endless stars and beautiful moonlight the night we stayed. Absolute highlight of our trip

“A place where kids can be kids and adults can reconnect”

Let’s just say you nailed the words you say!

What an experience, an eye opener and most certainly a lifetime of memories. Not only do they let you camp on their property they give you the worlds best map to go exploring! Their customer service is beyond words. They’re kind, friendly, welcoming and just overall wonderful people.

This is your absolute must on your bucket list!

We have been to Almerta several times. The hosts are friendly and very accommodating, the camp spaces are very private with lots of shade. There’s a long drop on each site and a fire pit. If you drive back to near the main house there is a normal toilet and a shower block. There’s even a cabin/small house for those that don’t like roughing it. All in all, this an excellent Station to stay at.

Almerta Station was a fantastic stay on our trip through the Flinders Ranges. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating; and the campsite we had was amazing. Drop Toilet, Firepit and rubbish bin in a lovely spot on the dry river under the stars and river gums.
Our only issue was that we couldn’t stay long enough to truly enjoy all the Station had to offer.
Will definitely stay again next time we journey out that way.

We stayed in the Shearers Quarters in June 2021 which was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The scenery is so gorgeous.
Wish we had the time to have stayed longer but we will be back

Loved this place. Definitely one of our highlights on our trip to Australia. We stayed at the stearing quarters. Well equipped kitchen and helpful host. No better place to watch the stars at night.

Great location and very friendly helpful hosts, 1st visit was a secluded camp site for the 8 of us then we returned a few days later but the weather had turned and stayed in the shearer’s quarters nice and warm with good kitchen dining area.
