The star of the dish, however, is the smooth, creamy yogurt (dahi) that is drizzled over the top, adding a refreshing contrast to the spiciness of the filling

The food we ordered here was all delicious, with the Kalaki standing out in particular. The portions were generous, and the service was quick as well.

Mirchi Madras is a fantastic spot for a delicious and affordable Indian meal. Conveniently located near the tram station, it's perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed sit-down experience. I recently tried their Chillie Cheese Dosa, and it was phenomenal! The perfect amount of spice balanced beautifully with the creamy cheese filling. The Mango Lassi was another winner, offering a refreshing and sweet counterpart to the heat. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the prices were kind on my wallet. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Delicious food but pieces are very less in biryani. It's like biryani for the first few spoons and then it's just rice. Their tables are also very sticky. Not sure why.

Loved the food. We had masala dosa which was yum, goat biriyani with good pieces, dum porotta with goat, jigarthanda, coffee, kizhi porotta with goat. Spicy good food.

I’m from Canberra and came all the way to try at MMS. The food was ultimate nothing as negatives.
The taste was amazing and worth another trip to Melbourne for this food.

Service- the service was quite slow and who was
serving was not welcoming and pleasant.

Atmosphere- the atmosphere was good but as soon I enter into the restaurant there was strong masala smell just circulating inside the restaurant which was uncomfortable.

Ordered food for the first time. Like the taste and quick service. Recommend for all. Orders 4 dishes and was more than enough for 4 people. Good quality and quantity.

Really authentic South Indian Cuisine. We had the Masala Dosa, Jeera Samba Goat Briyani and Lamb Chukka. Super delicious. Looks like they also specialise in Roti varieties. Need to come back for that.

A good streak on finding the hidden gems in Melbourne. It's a Tuesday evening, was planning to head to chilli India. Since it's closed, headed to this place with not much hope.

As I pondered over the evening snacks, the chef recommended medhu vada, as it is being cooked fresh. He assured everything on the snacks menu is being prepared fresh, provided I have 15 minutes. To all the fast food enthusiasts, some Indian foods take a while to prepare and they are meant to prepared fresh, not cooked and kept. And there came my fresh, hot, fluffy vada with the right amount of onions and what not. Hmm, felt right at home.

Then, came the suggestion of trying out their kothu as it's the best seller. Yeah, why not. And it turned out to be the best kotu I had in Melbourne (I'm looking right at you, chilli India).

A definite great place for south Indian, most importantly, Tamil food, hidden behind chilli India.

Don't miss it. But please be patient while the food is being prepared.

MMS is my favourite south India restaurant in Melbourne, they a huge variety in their menu from dosas to indo-Chinese varieties.
Their kizhi parotta is my favourite.
They also have a number of friendly staff who can suggest the daily specials.

One of the best South Indian Restaurants in and around city.. bought Kizhi Porotta (veg version) takeaway last week.. it was so good that I went back and got Gobi Manchurian (dry) and Porotta with Kingfisher beer couple of days ago.. It was a trip down memory lane and reminded me of my uni days.. I’m back here again for more authentic South Indian goodness..
The service is very very good.. the staff are polite and accommodating of my customisation requests as well.. Excellent value for money as well.

Ordered takeaway as I saw their ad on Facebook & I wasn't disappointed at all. Growing up in a South Indian household, the food brings back childhood memories.
Love their banana leaf set! Everything was so yummy & authentic.

I definitely need to leave a review here. Kizhi Parotta which comes with spices and the soft texture wrapped in banana leaf which when opened gives you an amazing aroma. The BEST PAROTTA of India is here. And the service is amazing. Also you got to try Kothu Parotta, Briyani (Ambur), their Indian street style Fried rice and noodles, the street famous Kalaki (a variety of Egg)

Had masala dosa, lamb kotthu and chettinad biryani for take away. Amazing amazing flavour, spicy and authentic 🌞 best south Indian restaurant in the city!

The food is very tasty and good. Must try their sambar, which is very good. Uttapam and Dosa are also very good.
