Hightail

We generally come here for their happy hours (Mon to Fri) between 5 pm to 7 pm, but this time we decided to try their food.

We ordered the Chicken Schnitzel, served with garden salad, fresh lemon & chips ($27), and the Vegan Chicken Burger, served with vegan cheese, house-pickled beetroot, greens, cucumber, seeded mustard, tahini, vegan aioli & chips ($28.5).

Both came quickly and at the right temperature. The chicken was very juicy and the portion was just right. The chips were nice and chunky.

Great service, fast, and friendly. Definitely coming back!

Cool place for a drink, caught up with friends around 4.30 ish, and vibe was good. Not too noisy and we could actually talk! Coffee Martinis a must!

I was here on the weekend for a work Xmas party - full venue booking. Great service, pretty good atmosphere. Nice range of craft beers available, as well as ciders, non-alcoholic drinks, etc. Good selection of finger food made available for the function, thoroughly recommend. The venue had organised a DJ as well - the volume was a little bit high initially but appropriate after everyone had loosened up a bit.
All in all, Hightail is a pretty nice place. Would recommend.

Quite a nice place to go for an after work party. The food is good, the drinks are great. The overall ambience is very relaxed. As far as I can remember, the music doesn't get really loud. This place can be a bit tricky for a large gathering (60-70 people), unless fully booked by you!

The food here never disappoints

Enjoy the Happy Hour and the food was very good! but the service received from Erin topped it as I had lost couple of receipts which I needed a copy of. All I had was the purchased amount and date, Erin was warm and showed great willingness to assist. She went through the sales ledger and painstakingly found the transactions and emailed me the duplicate copy of the receipts. Even though it was not a straightforward task, she always had a smile in her face during our interaction and made me feel at ease even though I was apprehensive at the start regarding my request. THANK YOU ERIN and HIGHTAIL!!

I recently coordinated a networking event at Hightail Bar's Lagoon area in Melbourne and it was a fantastic evening. The space comfortably accommodated around 90 people, (cocktail with ample space) offering a relaxed ambiance that promoted connections amongst the team. The staff's friendliness and professionalism stood out, providing impeccable service and ensuring everyone felt welcomed.

The canapes that not only looked appealing but were bursting with flavors, catering to various tastes. The event was a resounding success, evident from the laughter-filled conversations and overall positive atmosphere. Hightail Bar's Lagoon area undoubtedly proved itself as a superb choice for private events, blending great space, attentive service, and delicious food for a memorable experience in Melbourne.

Original Review August (now updated): The cider on tap is not good, watery with no flavour. Pear cider in a bottle has a sickly sweet flavour not balanced and the Golden Axe is ok but strange aftertaste. Would recommend a new selection of ciders.

Have come back in October and they now have Bertie Cider, very happy and it's awesome they have taken the feedback on..have changed from 3star to 5stars.

Great portion food, lovely staff and lovely place for big or small gatherings. Farewell lunch recent went so smoothly, and not one complaint from 30 people! Apparently they need a better Chardonnay, that's the only feedback I got 😎

Great venue with ample space to host functions. We had an office party at this venue and the ambience and service was great. Decent selection of drinks and food. Nicely located in a prime location of Melbourne CBD.

We booked last minute for 25 people, staff very accommodating. Even though they were short staffed and advised that meals would take longer, for a group of our size the meals came out quick, all together, fresh, delish, everyone happy. Great team at Hightail, thank you

Always great, fast & friendly service. Cocktails were brilliant; more finger food on the menu would make this place killer! (Polenta doesn't count as finger food in my humble opinion 😜)

It was corporate gathering. Food was quite tasty. It's my second time there. Good that they maintain consistency with food taste and quality.

The team here are sensational - particularly Erin and Gemma! Held an event here for the second time now and am consistently blown away by how friendly, straight-forward and no-nonsense the team are. I work with a lot of venues around Melbourne and these guys are my absolute favourites. Also the bar is great and the food is awesome, we always have good feedback from guests on both. Many thanks!
