Maiaveda Holistic Health Retreat & Spa

I have recently spent a full week in Kyneton in the capable hands of Marye O'Brien and her incredibly skilled therapists at Maiaveda. It was an experience I shall never forget and I will certainly return for more pampering in the not-too-distant future. Mary is a kind compassionate soul and all of the ladies who work with her are highly trained and nurturing. I returned home feeling rested, rejuvenated and inspired like a new woman...well, at 70 years old....almost new! 😂

Had the most amazing experience with Tara. From the onset the signature massage was so relaxing. Starting with a foot bath while Tara explaining the process. Being lead to the massage room that was dimly lit, with a calming scent, and beautiful sounds. The signature massage was just right with the warm oils, the wrapping of body to felt so nurturing, the placing of the heat packs on the body made me feel so secure and relaxed and ending of the sound bowl on each side of my head was grounding. The experience was divine I will make 1.5hr journey again to do it again. Highly recommend.
My daughter also had the signature massage with Mary and she came out with the biggest smile on her face.

Recently, I was treated to a heavenly massage experience courtesy of a gift voucher with Tara. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of divine! From the moment I stepped into the Maiaveda sanctuary, I felt like I was walking on air. Tara's warmth and expertise transported me to a state of pure bliss.

Every detail of the Maiaveda signature treatment was meticulously thought out, from the heavenly foot soak in the tranquil room to the expert touch of Tara's hands, which seemed to possess their own wisdom. I found myself melting into the table, completely lost in the moment.

But it wasn't just the treatment itself that left me in awe. The exquisite room, the warm oils, the soft towels – every little touch added to the experience, making it truly unforgettable.

Marye is a beautiful intuitive woman who genuinely cares about healing and balancing mind, body and spirit. I spent 2 days at Maiaveda retreat receiving individualised treatments including yoga, massage, reflexology, facials - that together transcended any previous body work experience. It was bliss. It was also opening to insights that shifted my understanding of relationships. Highly recommended. 💕

I just had the most amazing pregnancy massage by Gracie. From the moment I walked up the stairs I was greeted and felt completely taken care of. The energy in the room was so calming and I immediately connected with Gracie who took the utmost care of me.
The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my massage and was still cared for afterwards with a lovely chai tea and chat with Gracie about the beautiful old building we were in.
Highly recommend to anyone, Would even be a great gift to give someone for some time out and pampering. Five stars!!!

On arriving at the steps leading to Maiaveda wellness spa it is instantly apparent that this is something very special. The magnificent building is just the beginning, the warm greeting and attention to detail is second to none. It is evident that years of experience have cultivated the philosophies and practices used by Mary O’Brien and her staff .Prior to my visit I was totally unaware of Ayurveda, a natural medicine apparently developed over 3000 years ago. My massage was divine, 90 minutes of sheer bliss in the hands of the staff member Gracie. Afterwards I felt completely relaxed and almost euphoric, everything down to the smallest detail had been carefully considered. I loved it!! I can’t recommend this highly enough…

I have told all my friends about Maiaveda, I couldn't recommend it more highly if I tried. It exceeded my expectations in every aspect and Marye is just divine; she goes above and beyond. From the amazing treatments, the knowledge, and the care, nurture, connection and safe space, I felt honoured, seen, understood and held.
I did a weekend retreat and can't wait to go again. My cup was overflowing so much, I returned home to my young kids with abundant capacity to handle the every day stresses. I actually felt truly rejuvenated. Even my doctor commented that I was glowing! So much gratitude for this little hidden gem and Marye and her team!

Marye has been a divine space holder who has personally held me through so much of my journey as a mother of young children. The treatments I received at Maiaveda provided that sacred window into self care for me to dive into, between the ongoing responsibility of mothering young humans. It created a window for me to better understand what encapsulates my unique constitution through the framework of yoga and Ayurveda. Through my years of seeing Marye at Maiavedia I have received so much wisdom and come home to a truer version of myself. Thank you Marye, you held me and held to lamp through the darkness for me. Before working with Marye I didn't know that a massage could be sacred and transformative healing therapies. I cannot recommend Maiaveda's suite of Ayurvedic treatments and professional, caring staff enough. You have to experience it for yourself!

I had an amazing experience in Maiaveda. Hands down the best, most caring and nurturing massage I have received. Beautiful, inspiring funky environment. It is rare these days that people create the space and provide services to people with such a genuine care. There should be at least one in every city. ❤

I experienced a retreat with Maiaveda and was not at all disappointed. In fact, it was the complete opposite. This experience has been incredible for me both mentally and physically. Marye and her team were supportive, kind and caring throughout the whole experience and demonstrated a strong sense of community in their work both within their team and within Kyneton as a whole. Marye opened up and shared a lot of experiences that helped guide me through my more difficult emotions. I had therapies with Tara, Joanne and Marye and all were incredible. I have never felt so spiritually awakened and content in my body. The food was incredible and very nutritious and the location was beautiful. I urge you if you’re feeling a little lost or you need some guidance or you just want to do something entirely for yourself (which you are worthy of) to consider and book in with Maiaveda. I have learnt things I can use throughout my day to day life to support my anxiety, make me more centred, and that aid with a more Ayurvedic lifestyle. Thank you so much for this experience.

What a wonderful experience! My partner and I saw Mary and Tara, they were both so lovely and calming. I was also pregnant at the time and Tara ensured that I was comfortable throughout, I left feeling like I was on a cloud. We can't wait to book back in again. Thank you ladies!

Marye looked after me today and I had the most amazing spa ritual experience. If you are looking for somewhere to feel nurtured, energised and healed then this is the place! Marye used the most amazing products for my facial and massage, she’s a very experienced healer and any pain you have will quickly melt away. The best massage/facial I’ve had and I’d highly recommend seeing Marye for a truly special and sensory experience. You will be welcomed by a lovely ambiance and Marye’s friendly and nurturing demeanour will make you feel completely at ease. Do yourself a favour and book in or treat a loved one!

As a multiple business owner, Mum, wife and acreage owner, let’s just say I’m busy, body and mind always in over drive.

I gifted myself  a 3 day/night retreat to connect with myself and take time to be alone with my thoughts and truly rest.

I was supported, held and nourished in all aspects. The daily 3-4 hours of treatments allowing my mind total freedom while my body was in complete bliss.

Then coming home to the beautiful stables to wander the gardens, read a book, shower forever or just curl up in bed was just magical.  Opening the fridge to see Marye had chosen me delicious healthy meals and snacks for my time actually bought me to tears.

With very little family support, I didn’t realised how much I needed to feel nurtured.  There was the perfect balance of connection and alone time to reflect and process.

Turning off from my everyday for 4 days has given me a new lease and enthusiasm for my life, I’m smiling a little more and the days seem just a fraction brighter, not to mention I look and feel years younger.

I happen on this place about a month back and had the best massage of my life (thanks Tara!). I headed back there for a couple nights stay just to have more treatments. I’ve now had an incredible facial, another massage and a hand and foot treatment. This little treasure is unique and fantastic and will probably make me a Kyneton regular!

I have been wanting to try Maiaveda for over 2 years now but had so much going on. Recently, I gave birth to our premature baby boy and needed some care for myself. My husband reminded me to see if there were any last-minute bookings and I was so lucky to have a spot free last Saturday with Marye. The greeting and welcoming I received from Marye was so caring and nurturing that I was taken aback. My feet were bathed, comfy slippers provided, and a special mantra to help me heal. I felt safe and so special. My signature massage transcended me into another realm. Marye knew exactly what I needed, not just physically but spiritually. I have never had a massage like this before, and I finally found my place, it felt like home. I am already planning to book on a regular basis. I left feeling full and light, re-energised. Im very grateful to Marye and Maiaveda, what a magical place. Thank you for realigning me.

I have been to Maiaveda twice now, and both experiences have been absolutely wonderful. Both times I have had the signature massage and it is probably the best massage I have ever had. You will leave feeling utterly relaxed and rejuvenated, it is utter bliss. I told my husband that for any future gifts for me all he needs to do get a voucher for more massages! Highly recommend!
