Easily the best pasties we’ve ever had!
In a location that you could easily miss and drive past, we stumbled across this bakery a while back. We have been here many times since and they have always impressed us.
Our order, as usual, was for Vegetable Pasties.
The pastry is flaky with a perfect consistency. And with some places the filling to pastry ratio can be out but they absolutely nail it here with so much filling!
And the vegetables!! Big chunky roasted vegetables that are absolutely delicious - you can tell that they are prepared especially for the pasties.
So glad that they continue to shine - we’ll see you again for sure!

Note: They also have an option to grab their baked goods cold, so we grabbed four extra pasties to heat up later on.

I got 2 pies for my pie loving husband to cook the next day. He said they were the best pies his had… the pastry is amazing. Well done chef We will be back to eat there and to take home to have in the freezer as we live far but way worth the drive.

The vanilla slice is the best one we have ever tried!
And the pastry for the pies and sausage rolls.... Wow. A must stop

The pies are absolutely delicious here! Had a mushroom and beef pie and a ham, cheese and bacon pie and both were so so good - flaky pastry, saucy but not too saucy filling and just the right amount of saltiness. Thanks for sharing these pies with the world! Highly recommend. Friendly service too!

I'm a bit old school with Bakery's and Grist is up there with their pies and fresh sandwiches, these guys are really friendly and their food is very good. Beef and mushroom pie is my favourite and I always use a knife and fork 🍽.

Probably the best almond croissant I have ever eaten. Huge portion, very creamy. Really really nice! We even came back for a second time.

Genuinely might be the best bakery in the entire world.

Wow....a stop on our AmazingCo Mystery picnic. A busy place and we can see why. We came for bread and quiches but who could resist those meat and spinach and cheese sausage rolls. AMAZING! Ogling eyes spotted delightful looking cakes and pastries. We will be back for these on our next trip!

No trip to Kyneton is complete without some Grist pastries/bread. Prepare to line-up, but it will be worth it. My car/house has smelt like a bakery for days just from having the dark rye in it.

What a great find! Loved this great little bakery. The pastries are flaky and tasty 🥰 Located in a lovely old historic building…. Uneven worn floors and millstones.

I stopped here by chance while visiting Kyneton.
It was near close time, so they had special, 2 sour dough bread for $10, 3 pastry for $10.

It’s good deal, so I bough both.
The pastries were delicious !! Crispy and flaky !!

Bread was very nice as well.
Next time I like to eat in as cafe is very nice vibe.

Good experience for foods and history. It was frizzy at 1800. I spent more time for looking around and the pepper pie is the best pie I've ever taste.

The Almond Croissants are amazing!
The pies & sausage rolls are like home made!
Definitely worth a trip out.

Loved the whole place - located in an old mill. So authentic regional feel to it.
Plus the bakery products were just so so good. Cannot recommend it more

OMG the pies are seriously next level. The curry pie's crust was flaky perfection and filling truly to die for.

I had a selection of their quiches. The best one in my opinion is chicken, brie and dill. What an amazing combo! Complimented by their quality pastry as the base. Delicious! Their other selections are also great.

Just purchased some very delicious meat pies, sausage rolls, fabulous coffee and an amazing vanilla slice

even after two hours drive back and reheating in the oven, the pies and sausage roll is still delicious and flaky. Definitely worth the drive. :)
