Alphington Medical Centre

I have been a patient at Alphington medical centre for almost 25 years. It has always been very professionally run and all of the doctors are very personable. I have always enjoyed seeing Dr Louise Counsel who is extremely thorough, professional and very trustworthy. It’s a very comforting feeling knowing you are being looked after and supported so well. I also love the online booking system too.

Dr Marilyn Gates is the best GP I have ever had. She is always diligent & enthusiastic in her approach. She refuses to rush through a consultation, even when she is running behind schedule. An amazing practitioner! Thank you

I have been a patient at this Medical Centre for well over a decade. In my regular GP’s absence every one of the practitioners I have seen has been wonderful. My Telehealth appointment with Dr Jenny Bourke today was a classic example of this. She is both professional and amicable and attended to my request for documents promptly and courteously. The staff at reception are also great.

Dr Yasodha Selvarajah is our family GP and she’s amazing. We’ve also had great experiences with other GP’s when we’ve seen them and the nurses who do immunisations are lovely too.

I've been a patient at this clinic for over 30 years and will keep going back until my GP/s retire. I have two main GPs at this clinic and both are amazing. They take the time to listen and are thorough when it comes to providing a diagnosis, treatment or referrals to a specialist. I always feel heard and cared for. As someone with long-term chronic health issues, this is so important.

I got in straight away this morning and the Dr I saw was extremely thorough and very personable. I’ve always been able to get an appt at short notice too - so would recommend this practice.

Booked an Appointment with the blessed Dr Jenny Burke. A wonderful doctor, just works so hard you have to phone before you leave home to see if she is running on time. I was able to have another cuppa before I went up to see her. She still had a few appts before I saw her, however, someone must of complained about the staff in reception, which was awful, really poor, because I was greeted by a friendly face who actually said hello, may I help you. I immediately felt better. The center is always clean and neat the chairs are comfortable. The atmosphere has picked up 100 per cent. So nice to be greeted with a smile. Manners never go out of fashion. Well done AMC

First time meeting the lovely Emily the nurse for my Covid vaccine. Got appt same day within the hour and was a very efficient and pleasant experience. GP popped in to discuss also. Best part it was free $ 😀

Excellent care. Reception phoned beforehand to warn of a possible delay, and Dr Jennifer Bourke is looking after my elderly dad really well. Thanks to the whole team.

Long term patient, who has found the doctors (and admin staff) to be friendly, knowledgeable and very capable. I happily recommend this practice.

I have attended this practice for over 25 years and have had exceptional care from doctors for a wide range of issues, including obstetrics, orthopaedics, and general health as I age. Referrals to specialists and allied health professionals have been very good. I would highly recommend this practice.

Alphington Medical Centre has always provided a friendly and comprehensive service. Despite a busy schedule, the clinic always finds time to accomodate my family’s needs.

Really great practice. The reception team are very very helpful, follow up when they say they will and I have heard them several times on the phones while waiting in the waiting room being extraordinarily patient with people who seem to be stressed or anxious and making challenging requests.
Doctors we have seen are great, and phlebotomists also very compassionate.

Sooo lucky to have this exceptional clinic around the corner from us. My family and I (2 kidlets under 3) routinely see Dr Yasodha Selvarajah and Dr Thanh-Thuan Nguyen - they are incredibly thorough, patient, curious, and ooze empathy. Critical to book in advance where possible, otherwise the reception will do their darndest to have you seen ASAP where necessary. Thank You Alphington!

It's a bit of a bitter but happy review about Dr.Ali. He has always been so considering and a caring person towards his patients. Me and my family are always appreciative of his due diligence and sad to see him leaving Aplington medical center, however very happy for him in his new adventure opening up his own clinic; Ivanhoe Family Doctors. Good luck Dr. Ali!

Very efficient and excellent service!
I had a Covid-19 test.. Dr. Ali came out to me in the car park and was very friendly and did the test as quickly and comfortably as possible.

Although it was done remotely (payment/registering), it was handled very friendly and efficiently.

All the doctors have been so great over the years I have been going here.
Dr Council and Dr Shirley have been so great with pregnancies and looking after the medical needs of my children into their teen years. Is helping one of my teens with their autism assessment journey and all it comes with.
Unfortunately they don't generally bulk bill so there are out of pocket expenses.

Very positive experience from Doctors who really care. They sometimes run a little behind schedule, but this is because they give people the time to really understand them and are very busy and in high demand.
