Wish I could give this more stars! Les was such an awesome host, very friendly and accommodating. He made us feel welcome, showed us around the property. Wildlife, beautifully maintained lawn. Paddy melons around too - as well as many birds.

Most lovely little campsite. You can pick your own little spot. Simple facilities. Not a big PowerPoint but you can charge small devices like phones. The garden is just beautiful with a lot of birds, different plants and fabulous open areas. The owners are so amazing and sweet. The pool is gorgeous and cool. Must visit if you can.

We loved this place, the cottage is peaceful, well appointed and a perfect home base for a week of bird watching. We had extra bonus of listening to the tropical rains at night.  Stock up on groceries on your way and you may never leave!  No mobile reception with a good selection of nature docos/classic movies.

Sitting out front with a morning coffee watching the paddy melons, brush turkeys and other wildlife flitting around.  Saw a few green tree frogs by night, cockatoos and the resident chooks pecking around.  Wendy and Richie delivered some bananas from the garden and thoughtfully dropped a few ponchos over on a rainy day.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway and base for getting amongst wildlife, you can't go past this place.  We'll be back.

Stayed here for a couple of nights either side of a trip to Cooktown. Absolutely beautiful setting, great hosts, preferred to stay with Fred while exploring the Daintree area .. will be back again when we are up that way

Best stay ever! Thank you Carol & Les for being so welcoming & letting us extend our visit. Well maintained grounds & the most
well behaved animals ever. Great swim in the pool & the many walks around the property. Never seen bamboo this big. Wish we had visited this place before. Wishing you both all the best in your next adventure.

Absolute gem will remember this place forever, loved the wallabies peacocks ducks and mad happy pig and the turtles plus more. Make sure u get double feed for animals because they are so friendly it's truly intoxicating. But don't go expecting a nice swim it's the friendly animals and million dollar views that count.

Very lovely campsite in the middle of nature. The area is beautiful, very green and full of wild life (birds, tree kangaroos, etc).
Carol and Les are adorable and very welcoming.
They lent us a gas cooker as we didn’t have the proper gas bottle for ours.
The facilities are very good and clean: 2 toilets, cold shower and shelter to cook with your own gas cooker.
No internet service there but you can access Les and Carol’s wifi by the pool.
30 mins from Mossman and Port Douglas only.
I really recommend

Best hosts ever! Great advice on birding, available if we needed anything, this is exactly the way we like it. Very well appointed with everything one could possibly need for a great stay, the cottage was bigger than we needed and very reasonably priced. First Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfishers of the season had just arrived at the property when we were there, and they nest on Feathers'n'Friends' grounds! There are lots of great birds right at the cottage: Superb Fruit-Dove, Double-eyed Fig-Parrot, Barred Cuckooshrike, Spectacled Monarch, Black-faced Monarch, Large-billed Gerygone, Macleay's Honeyeater, Graceful Honeyeater, and Olive-backed Sunbird. As well as great hosts, Carol and Les are wonderful folks, we highly recommend Feathers'n'Friends and we will stay again.

We arrived & were very warmly greeted by Les the owner who kindly showed us where we could choose to stay with our motorhome it’s a beautiful place with very friendly chooks who would come inside if you let them but there were also some beautiful geese & goslings just wondering around which was great to see we only stayed 1 night unfortunately as I’d have loved to try out the very inviting pool oh well maybe another time . If your ever in the area & looking for a nice place to stay please don’t hesitate to call in 😊

Found Feathers n Friends Cottage by chance en route from Mossman to Mt Lewis, after being in Daintree and seeing few birds..

A wonderful treat we had, when we got there! Very reasonable price for what felt like luxury accommodation in a paradise setting, with delightful hosts.. And we saw birds everywhere!! Sunbirds, Wompoo pigeons, Catbirds, Finches, and even the Paradise Kingfisher was there in its nesting season.. Just don't forget your spare battery for your camera like a certain birder friend of mine did! :)

Thanks Fred and Jeanette!
Kirsten and Clare.

PS. Oh and wonderful swim too!
Sorry to have to leave. X

Great flat camp on grass, good privacy, sparkling pool, lovely grounds with birds galore, and nice hosts. I look forward to my black sapote ‘chocolate pudding’ fruit ripening, thank you again for giving me one! Edit, see pics!

Such a beautiful setting. Very inexpensive to camp here and with basic facilities but the tranquil surrounds made it one of our favourite campsites on our recent visit to the Daintree area.

Great place. When I was there it was $6 per person(may have increased). Fred and Janet were two of the nicest people ever! There is no cell signal there but a beautiful landscape.
