Great Country Pies

Highly recommended by the ladies at the Info centre at the train station. Was told by the friendly staff that people travel great distances to buy their pies and pastries. There wasn't much choice left when we arrived at 3:30pm so decided to pick up 3 flavours. 1) Breakfast Pie 2) Hot Mustard chicken (name to be confirmed) and 3) Apple Pie.
Hot Mustard Chicken was so tasty. Loved the flavour and the generous chicken chunks in the pie. The best and fully loaded chicken pie ever tasted.
Breakfast pie at first bite was a little disappointing because the gravy and mince meat flowed out. After a few more bites, a whole egg was uncovered. The egg was nice and soft. It added a different dimension to the initial taste of the pie. The pie was piping hot upon biting in.
Apple Pie was served cold which I thoroughly enjoyed. Love the generous filling in the pie. The balance is perfect, not too sweet nor sour. Highly recommended.

Best loaf of white sliced ever baked.
I used to drive out of my way every morning to get.Lovely dark crust outside,and soft white bread inside.

Finally! A decent pie and sausage roll shop. Stopped today unexpectedly and was so impressed. I’ve been saying for ages that finding a good pie and sausage roll is like striking gold, but look no further! I had the corned meat and hickory pie 🤤. Beautiful crisp pastry with a thick and flavoursome meat filling. Awesome!

We just had an excellent steak and kidney pie, full of proper steak and kidney and not grissly, beautifully made, pastry was great. So fresh and hot, best quality... I had a great salad roll. The roll was whole meal and perfectly filled. I like my corn meat, sliced jut thin enough to still be firm to eat and the salad was crisp and crunchy and not soggy. Coffee was excellent. Service was efficient and good too! Well done!!

Didn't plan on coming here for lunch but very glad we did. Pies had crisp pastry with tasty, chunky filling, sausage roll was old school delicious - best pie shop fare we'd had in a long time. Enjoyed our meal in a clean & pleasant atmosphere, lots of locals coming in which is always a good sign. Bread & pastries we bought for home were delicious. Have now found another good reason for the pleasant drive from Toowoomba to Oakey.

Great country bakery, good coffee, pies and cakes

We stopped here while travelling through town and so glad we did, the pies were truly amazing we could not fault them at all... just like when we were young.... friendly staff, clean and tidy well laid out shop.. we also had some cakes which were wonderful also... a must stop at shop if you are there..

You will travel a long way to get better pies, bread and coffee. A fantastic local business that deserves all the credit that they get!

Great service. Pie and peas were awesome.

Traveling through Oakey 4.30pm and REALLY needed a coffee. This little bakery still had their lights on so I popped my head inside to ask if they did coffee. I was greeted by the friendliest smile and a happy response to fix me some coffee even though it was nearly closing time. Delicious roastiness was quickly dispatched to keep us going on our journey. I grabbed a couple loaves of bread while waiting and they too are yum. Thanks so much for your service. We know where to stop again next time. 😊👍

I'm from Vic but working near here I stop every morning best coffee and .pies .rolls so good .but that's not all it's such a friendly place you walk out with a coffee and a smile .great place great people .

Best place to get a pie or a red devil (a frankfurter, Cheese, Bacon and Tomato Sauce wrapped in Pastry) when in Oakey!!!

Gluten free options which is amazing for a rural bakery. Friendly service and sweet treats. Appropriately priced.

Food is lovely and reasonable priced we loved it and the service was great as well.
