Jesse’s CARDWELL PIES

Got two pies here - Potato pie was fat with lots of potato mash. Cheese and Bacon pie had slices of bacon. Pastry was layered and fluffy. You can find the van on the first test stop into Cardwell.

I always make sure whenever I'm driving up to Cairns or going on the coast that I always stop here now at Jesse's Cardwell pies. It's located in the rest. Stop Just as you enter Cardwell from the Townsville side. There are heaps of carparks available as well as toilet facilities for a nice rest stop on your trip.

During school holiday periods it can get quite busy, and sometimes pies may be sold out after lunch. All the pies are made fresh daily by Jesse himself and are ready to eat upon purchase.

My favourite pie to get there is the beef and mushroom pie, and they also have the option of adding a scoop of mushy peas on top of your pie as well. There are a range of different pastry options available, as well as drinks and chips.

Definitely recommend dropping in here if you are ever in the area and check out their pies.

Only time I don't stop is if he has packed up & gone (sold out) or if I go through Cardwell too early.

Very nice pies, they are usually sold out when we pass, however, we were lucky this time. Had a chicken and mushroom and spinach and feta (pastie style). very happy with both. Will definitely stop again.

I stop here every time I go through Cardwell. All the food is good, if the pies are sold out the sausage rolls and pasties are just as good. Fantastic value and the salesman has great banter.
