Thaleia Greek Taverna

We had dinner here last night and i was impressed with the quick and friendly service! We ordered various plates to share and we were very satisfied with the servings and flavour of every dish! I'm definitely coming back here on a weekend for dinner to enjoy the band with music & dancing!

Where do I start?
I write this review as I'm still eating because I need to share how AMAZING this establishment is.
Honestly there is nothing to fault, except 1 thing and that is my lack of stomach space 🙈
Okay so I'll set the scene. Its a 30th birthday party. We heard of Thaleia from instagram and Facebook reels so we thought we'd check it out.
We ended up going online and found Groupon deals and we thought why not?
And Damn!!!! The food was just amazing. There is only 1 server.(Joseph) and he is just wonderful and so accommodating, I miscounted our family group and we were 1 place short and he just sorted it no problems what so ever.
Its a cute little place and feel so authentic to some of the places I had been to when I went to Greece.
Okay the food. Honestly I can't fault 1 thing and I'm picky. My father is a pain to take with us anywhere because he hates eating out and today I didn't hear his voice at all, why? Because it was so occupied by the delicious food being served. I called out from one end of the table to the other "Dad 👍" and dad just looked at me food in mouth with a massive bubble in his cheek and just said 😁👍👍👍. This is huge for my father he rarely does that when my mother cooks for him 😝.

The Greek salad- fresh and tasty the cheese is delicious and the olive oil is delicious way better than any I've ever tasted here from woolies/Coles etc.

The calamari- was beautiful and tenter and crispy.

The zucchini chips were light and crunchy and flavoursome.

The dips- delicious .

The halloumi sheeae platter OMG a moment in heaven!

The meat platter just wow. I went to Alex and Co last week for a function and I can say hands down that I wouldn't wipe my backside with the food they presented. But this platter I would have happily paid what we did at Alex and Co (which wasn't cheap) and more.

The lamb was tender and succulent and full of flavour.

The chicken just the same.

The chips looked homemade and the taste and flavour was beyond amazing especially with all the meat and chicken juices dripping on to them.

The pitta bread I would have been happy to just have as my meal, that's how good it tasted.

I genuinely can't explain how happy I am with the food, the service and the atmosphere.

Walking out if here I kind of feel ashamed. I feel like I've robbed these wonderful people the amount of food we got compared to the price we paid....its more than reasonably priced.

15 people and we still had food left over and remember I only booked for 14....I'll let you ponder.

Parking is a little hard but its Beverlyhills.
Also for all the parents out there....there is not only a toilet on the premises but there is also a baby change table.

One of the nicest Greek food I ever had. Very happy atmosphere with live Greek music on Saturday. A nice surprise, didn’t want to leave, had to order dessert even though I am already very full, wanting to try more of their food. Yummy!

Huge portions for the price & lovely strong flavours.

Decor and atmosphere is a bit dated, otherwise lovely experience.

Great food, friendly and professional staff, will be back with more friends.

Surprisingly pretty good. We were invited quests of a big group party . Food was real nice and fresh. Some items were sold out which was unfortunate as to some of the alcohol . All in all we had a great night .

Welcoming staff and nice atmosphere with live music. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of Beverley hills.

The food here was amazing!! Starting off with the halloumi cheese, it was very soft and well seasoned and delicious.

It was the first time I tried zucchini fries. This was so amazing the flavours on this were perfection. A MUST TRY!

The moussaka was full of flavour, filling and very comforting.
I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

One of the best Greek Restaurants in Sydney. The souvlakia are tender, juicy & tasty. Other highlights include the delicious cheese kefalograviera saganaki, skordalia & the dolmades packed with vibrant and tantalising flavours. The restaurant also offers a wonderful atmosphere with a live band playing Greek music in the background.

Great service from the moment we walked in. Friendly staff. Water instantly on our tables. We were left alone to peruse the menu and it felt like they knew it was time to talk to us. Got some recommendations from a lovely Greek lady (who admitted that her English wasn't fantastic but this added towards her charm). Everything she recommended was very tasteful.

My recommendations, try the taramosalata and the warm pita bread, and, Kefalogravlera Saganaki. The calamari and BBQ octopus were exactly to my liking.

I don't think you could find a bad meal at this place and I'm definitely returning to try more of their menu.

The staff was very friendly. We were not rushed and was given time to enjoy our food. The food was delicious and they come in very generous servings!

This restaurant came highly recommended by one of my friends. Even though I live quite far from this place, I must say that it was worth it to come all the way here. Everything was absolutely amazing - service, food, an authentic atmosphere... You won't regret if you come here.😊

We went to Thalia on 21/02/2024 for husband's 60th birthday & my Twin boys 18th birthday. The service was exceptional. The best Greek food ever. Can't wait to come back soon.

A great experience! Top quality food and great value for money. Haloumi was sensational. The souvlaki and lamb were standouts. The zucchini chips left a little to be desired, but the normal chips were well seasoned and crispy. The 3 piece band took the night to a new level. The banter was great and they were interactive and engaging. Got a bottle of wine by the end of the night too! Would highly recommend!

Delicious Greek food, recommend to everyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine. The service is great as well. enjoy the Greek salad and sip on a glass of Greek dry white wine, perfect Friday night.

The walls on one side have photographs and ornaments from Greece. The other side has mirrors. We had the banquet for 2 and the whole snapper. We had greek salad as an opening entree and then the pita bread, dips, skewers of lamb and chicken, and then the fish. The food was fresh, delicious, and generous. The service was good. I strongly recommend this wonderful greek restaurant. I will return to surf the menu.
