The Royal Hotel, Daylesford

very nicely renovated interior of an old building. downstairs pub serve good food. car park can be full and in such case one has to park in the street. the room itself is well appointed, clean and with a comfy bed and good shower. they provided simple cereal breakfast box for each morning in the minibar. the corner room i was in did not have a door to the veranda to which other rooms got access. location can't be beaten, bang in the centre where there are restaurants and shops. room was booked with a discount rate so it's a bargain. would love to return

Had a fantastic dinner experience with a large group Easter Saturday night. The team in the bistro were absolutely fantastic. Food was delicious!!!!!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Royal Daylesford Hotel, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance of the hotel set the stage for a truly romantic getaway.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the dinner. The seafood linguini and garlic prawns were exceptional. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the seafood was remarkably fresh, enhancing the flavors of the dish.

Our room added to the charm of our stay, especially with the spa bath. It was the perfect way to unwind and relax our muscles after a day of exploring Daylesford. The hot soak was not just a physical relief but also a mental one, helping us to calm our minds in the serene environment.

The quality of sleep we had at the hotel was unparalleled. It was a night of peaceful, undisturbed rest, which is often rare in hotel stays.

Yesterday we met friends in Daylesford and all went to The Royal Hotel for lunch.
We all (4) enjoyed a delicious lunch, with great service, in the Bistro. Good meal, nice wine, great service, what more could we ask for? We definitely recommend.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights.
The rooms are amazing. Very spacious and the decor is spot on. Bathroom and double shower is also fantastic with great water pressure in the shower.
Beds and pillows are very comfortable.
Huge TV mounted on the wall with all the favourite channels/apps.

We dined in the bistro twice and the garlic bread, chicken kiev were fresh and filling and scotch fillet steak was cooked to perfection.

Great cold beer, heaps of variety and the cocktails are great, especially the Crème Brûlée

Thanks to the friendly staff and Cam for making our stay an awesome one.

Amazing. Had a bad experience with our booking over the road at the other hotel, so we crossed the road and came here. So glad we did! The staff are awesome, very obliging and friendly. We had pizzas and they were sooo good. Can’t recommend this place highly enough for both service and food.

Stopped at the Royal Hotel for a drink and dinner. The bar area was spotlessly clean with cold beer and great friendly staff. Whilst we didn't stay the night, the Website had incredible rooms at very competitive rates. Next visit to Daylesford, we'll be staying at the Royal Hotel.

We had an awesome time here! The bar and hotel stuff are all super friendly and helpful. It's my favourite accommodation during our trip. I would recommend anyone I know staying here when they visit Daylesford.

If you need a booking for 10 or more people, this is where you need to be. Easy to book, fast responses, no set menus, amazing food to impress your guests. This is now our local favourite.

Always a good spot for a drink and a meal. The food is high quality pub fare, it is expensive. A classic Parma will set you back 31.90 + surcharges… but we came back twice as all meals were consistent and enjoyable.
The dining room is a bit clinical, try and grab a spot in the bar area.
Avoid the red wines by the glass, they are all terrible, even for a pub!
Overall a good place, great location. We will come back.

Have been here twice in the past few years. Consistently good food. Excellent range of wines and cocktails. First time I have ever finished an entire plate of potato gnocchi. So good that the last spoonful was as delicious as the first. My wife had a surf and turf parma, that was perfectly cooked. Nice atmosphere and great central location.

Have had lunch here a fair few times and they never fail to impress! The food and service is amazing. Seriously, everything I have eaten here has been the best of whatever it is I've ever eaten. Yesterday I had the parma which was amazing, such fresh, flavourful chicken! The fish has the most light, crisp coating and the chips are just too easy to eat. Don't know if the dressings and sauce are house made, but they are perfectly complimentary of the dishes. The staff are also very welcoming and accommodating and the atmosphere is absolution lovely, whatever your in the mood for with a couple of seating options. I love this place and couldn't recommend it more!

The whole experience from beginning to end was amazing friendly staff, management and the owner.
Room was very clean and spacious with the best spa bath and very comfy bed.

After 15 years back to daylesford for Melbourne cup long weekend, and it is best days we had in there, too....

Clean and cosy rooms at an affordable price when we booked. The building itself is a little bit if and you hear a lot of creaking floorboards. But our room looked newly renovated and modernised. Central location was an added bonus.
