The Sir George

Beautiful lunch spot in the dappled shade. We made a booking for lunch and were not disappointed. Ordering food was quick and easy, and grabbing a drink from the bar painless. It was a busy Friday and we were eating and drinking 15mins after ordering. The food was fresh, hot and tasty and the menu had enough choices. Staff then promptly cleared our table.

We had such a lovely time. After a long road trip with my wife and kids- this place was the perfect stopover- beautifully decorated clean rooms, huge and extremely comfortable beds, a stunning garden to relax in and excellent food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for more!

We had to make an emergency stop and had been recommended The Sir George. It certainly lived up to the recommendation. The staff and booking service were incredibly helpful, from attending to certain requests to checking on arrival time to ensure we got dinner. The restaurant was excellent. Good selection of food and wine, and good cocktails. The steaks were excellent, as were the potatoes, beans and Basque cheesecake. Room was well stocked and comfortable. Highly recommended.

10/10! It was super busy but our meals still came out quite quickly. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time! Steaks and burgers were exceptional with delicious desserts that just topped off the evening! We are one very happy family of 5!

What a find! Stopped off on the way from Sydney to Hay and this was the perfect place for lunch. Great indoor and outdoor spaces and the food was top notch.

we had a lovely stay. The roast beef dinner on Friday was truly exceptional. Our room. was beautiful and the breakfast pack a lovely touch.

Upmarket restaurant just off the highway. Good range of meals in a very nice setting. It can get busy there and reservations on a weekend are probably a good idea.

We camped at the Showground but wandered over for dinner. The rump steak was probably one of the best steaks we have ever had, highly recommend

Amazing food! We had the half chicken, Korean fried chicken, green beans and garden salad. Everything was exceptional. Highly rated. The garden area for dining is beautiful. Worth the visit.

Stopped in for a wine as the Cellar Door next door was closed. Glad we did, this is a really nice place, inside and out, with a paved and grass beer garden out the back. Just excellent on a hot summers day.

We were there for a long lunch under the vines yesterday & fell in live with the place & excellent food ,service ,clean ,gorgeous gardens , beautiful building in side & out ,we were travelling back to Sydney with our (family a young couple ) who were flying back to Brisbane, there was a delay on the highway both ways closed ,so we turned back & came back for a very late afternoon coffee's to travel back .
We will all be back to experience the accommodation plus the Sir George hospitality.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is delicious. It's a family-friendly place, conveniently located near the highway. I highly recommend this charming hidden gem for a refreshing experience.

Popped in for lunch . The food was lovely. We sat outside because of the heat under the trees and the sprinkler were on with young children running through them . A great family venue .

Can’t go past the quality service, great outdoor area with a cool vibe and most importantly the quality of food here. We will be back whenever we travel the Hume, and that is often!

A very nice place to stay, great food, friendly staff, big and comfortable rooms, comfy bed and delicious DIY breakfast for the morning. Beautiful in Autumn.

Meals typical Pub fare..
Parmas, Schnitzels both had amazing crumb ...
Hamburger almost perfect ... not so large you had to deconstruct to eat, however a too much sauce for my liking perhaps ...
Fries were not great ... my guess is that the deep fryer needs to be cleaned out more often to have a better end result ... considering the high turnover of fried foods at the venue.

WOW…The Wagyu Fat Potatoes were unbelievable! The Pizza and Garlic Flatbread were delicious. Definitely recommend The Sir George.

Always a lovely stop on the road between Sydney and Wagga, for lunch, or just a coffee and a loo stop, or to pick up a fresh loaf of bread (fruit loaf is delish!).
We had the ceviche and the fish burger this time.
A gorgeous venue - tastefully done with lots of trees out in the courtyard.

Our room in the Stables was lovely - beautifully furnished and very understated. We loved the bar and the garden area. The food was delicious but it was a busy night and took a while to arrive. Will definitely return.
