Came here for the chicken rice and it was pretty good. I feel like the chicken could be a little more tender but overall it was good. Only available on weekends so double check you come on the right day.

The roti was very nice and fluffy. Good price point as an entre. Combination hot pot had good variety but was a little lacking in flavour. Good to order for some veggies.

Paid Street parking available on weekend otherwise walk from central station.

Had lunch here with a friend who used to be a regular here before moving interstate: we ate Butter Oat Prawns and Grandma Bean Curd - it was the best Malaysian restaurant meal I’ve had in Sydney. Place is hardly noticeable from the outside, and the place is no frills, simple, small and tidy on the inside (seems like a small family-run hole-in-the wall eatery, serving home-made food - as I had expected). Service was fast and courteous - the elderly gentleman who served us was kind and friendly. Portions were large and food was very delicious and not pricey.

Being at Ultimo TAFE means closer to other places. Kopitiam on Harris Street for example. A friend of mine once recommended this place, or what this place used to be. Doesn’t matter - the curry chicken laksa is amazing!!! Meat falling off the bone chicken, worth the price even with inflation happening. And rustic to boot. Teh tarik also great 👍🏼

We ordered:
• Char Kuay Teow
• Hainanese Chicken Rice*
• Roti Canai
• Sago w Palm Sugar
*only available on weekends

Everything was really delicious but I’d definitely recommend Char Kuay Teow and Hainese Chicken Rice. The Sago was good but not a stand out as I’m not used to the taste of Palm Sugar.

The serving sizes were very reasonable - as was the price. Will definitely be coming back to try other menu items.

Great, no frills Malaysian food. Simple menu, authentic and so delicious.

Definitely want to come back and try the Fish Head Bee Hoon!

This is literally the best Malaysian/Singaporean Restaurant in Sydney. This is what I ordered:

- Hainanese Chicken Rice (Best in Sydney)
- Char Kuey Teow (Best in Sydney)
- Fish Head Beehoon
- Chef’s Special Bean Curd

The Chicken Rice is only available on weekend and they have a limited portion. I suggest you call and make reserve the chicken rice if you plan on coming.

The four menu that I ordered were all very delicious. You can’t go wrong with either one of them.

Always my favourite Malaysian place in Sydney!
Best: nasi goreng, chicken curry, char kuay teow (some of my friends say the laksa, too). We also never fail to order the grandma tofu & the kangkung belacan.
I can also attest to the authenticity of the teh tarik, as always wouldn't be able to sleep before 3am whenever I drink. And despite that I'd order (or risk) it if I could afford the insomnia (ie. no work the next day).

Very authentic and traditional Malaysian cuisine with quick and friendly service. We had a range of vegetarian dishes including gado gado, laksa, and omelette and all were very satisfying and delicious. Coconut rice was also amazing. It’s cash only here so keep that in mind. Some dishes were a bit spicy for the kids but we all still really enjoyed it.

This place was fantastic. I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. Food was delicious, service was fast, friendly and accommodating and we were in an out in less than 30 minutes. I'll be back many times now I've discovered the place.

The best Malaysian foods that I ever had in Sydney. The fried fish head noodles simply made me feel like home, the fried fish super fresh. The curry noodle are so creamy rich which is what I always craving in Malaysia 👍🏻

LOVE this place for it's absolutely amazing Malaysian food. We ordered the chicken curry and haianese chicken rice and both were out of this world. Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for authentic Malaysian food.

P.s it's a cash only place so don't forget to hit up the ATM before you go.

I have been coming to this place since 2015. While somewhat remotely located on Harris St, you certainly won't be disappointed with their food. Curry laksa and nasi lemak are the signature dishes here. Their laksa is personally no. 1 in Sydney, having been to other famous ones.

Near one of the most authentic Malay restaurants you can find in Sydney.

Every dish was absolutely 10/10!

It's been 15 years since I was last here and I wish they had chicken rice. Unfortunately it was not available when I went. So maybe call ahead? The beef rendang was very good. The roti cenai is not made fresh so maybe avoid that. The nasi lemak is very good

I have been coming here for many years and the food has consistently been fantastic every time.

It can get really busy at peak times during the day/night which may mean you will have to wait a while (the chicken curry always seems to come last) but apart from that you know you are in for a good treat!

Must haves for me are the curry chicken, kang Kong, tofu with mince special & hainan chicken.

Phenomenal. Kopitiam Cafe is a rustic hole-in-the-wall diner and a strong contender for best Malaysian food in the area and possibly all of Sydney.

Serving classic hawker style dishes such as Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng, and Hainan Chicken, Kopitiam Cafe ticks all the right boxes - aged restaurant vibe, family run business, low prices (less than $20 for most menu items), and amazing authentic flavours.

There's an old joke - how do you know if an Asian restaurant is good? Must be cash only, family run, and not on TripAdvisor. Kopitiam Cafe is a shining example of this trope - this is not where you'd go for a fancy first date but where you'd go after your fancy first date has left you broke and yearning for genuinely delicious food.

We ordered the Hainan Chicken (weekends only), Nasi Lemak, Laksa, and Flat Noodle Vermicelli. Kopitiam Cafe is exceedingly famous for its Hainan Chicken but the stand out dish was definitely the Nasi Lemak - this came with a chicken curry that was simply out of this world.

There are instances where Kopitiam Cafe is too busy and will not take drink orders but this really isn't an issue as the 'Cafe' in the name of the establishment is more for style than anything. Seriously - drinks are drinks, you come to Kopitiam Cafe for the food.
