If you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience in Illawarra or South of Sydney, then head to this restaurant. Serving up popular Japanese dishes prepared by Japanese chefs. This place is modern, warm and inviting. Highly recommend to try their bento box.

Start with a crisp Asahi and a hot Miso soup with small pieces of fresh tofu. It's a great way to meddle into this Japanese restaurant in the middle of Helensburgh.
The assorted sushi, with tuna, seared salmon, prawn, kingfish, and little maki rolls encapturing a piece of salmon hugging an avocado slice,is a gem. Served with a generous dollop of wasabi and pickled white ginger. Juicy, light and tasty.
Snack on the slow cooked eggplant with miso, soft and buttery with a delicate miso flavour.
Highlight for me was the kingfish collar, lightly crisped, cooked till sweet, and served with a light soy sauce, wedge of lemon and ginger. Pick up the bones, too. You know you want to.
We tried the matcha tea tiramisu cake, slightly tea-like and a lovely way to finish this repast.
One little thing, the sushi fish is fridge cold and would have benefitted if it was room warm. Next time I'll dive into the one pot with ramen noodles or a bento, which they offer at lunch. Sanpo is a must visit in the 'Burgh.

Very good Japanese restaurant. Fresh sashimi that melts in your mouth, delicious omelette, and everything we ordered was really delicious. We have been dining here a few times now. The price is reasonable for the quality of food served. The lunch specials are also really worth it too.

After visiting the glow worm tunnel we came here for lunch. It was absolutely amazing, so tasty and fresh. We had the walkers bento box , and the homemade Gyoza , so delicious. The homemade lemonade was really good as well. Highly recommend this Japanese restaurant.

If you’re heading out to the south coast, this Japanese place is great for dinner. Small shop, but plenty on the menu! Highlights: fresh sushi, grilled kingfish wing and miso eggplant

By far the best Sushi I’ve had in Australia. They use to be in Sydney and unfortunately left, but they kept the highest standard with melt in your mouth sushi and freshest raw fish. Definitely put on your list when going out of Sydney..

Amazing restaurant with great food and really good service. Went in not expecting too much but was quite impressed. The service was friendly and meals were quite quick.
Each table has a screen to place your orders on which is quite handy.

Returned from a beach trip and stopped by this Japanese restaurant for a lunch break, which was a pleasant surprise! The place is very clean and very Japanese, with excellent service from the staff. The sashimi was very fresh, and every dish in the bento was delicious. The eggplant steak was outstanding, reminding me of a hidden gem Japanese restaurant I visited in Adelaide 10 years ago, but this was even tastier. For drinks, we tried their yuzu sake and yuzu lemonade, which were very refreshing and perfect for summer. I’ll definitely have to try the dinner menu next time.

Top quality local Japanese restaurant that is outstanding on every front! Service is great, food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are cold. The hardest part is making sure they aren’t booked out so you can come in and treat yourself. Can’t wait to go back and try the hotpot 😋

I love this place.
Just amazing Japanese restaurant.
"Do you want to see how clean your restaurant kitchen?"
Then you can check toilet.
You can see the cleanliness of the restaurant from the toilet. Very Impressive.
Also chef's special tempura was so nice.
I often go to the airport for work.
Probably I will visit again for my lunch
"Good food good staff" always make me happy
Staff are very kind, friendly , polite
I like Japanese people.

Just as amazing as ever, took a drive down to Helensburgh. We absolutely love this place, amazing food and service. They never fail to impress. Miso eggplant, tempura prawns and the sashimi boats are the best anywhere.

Excellent food and service!! Great Japanese restaurant, really enjoyed. Only downside had some really loud noisy people, which dampened the atmosphere but otherwise great 😊

Very surprised to find a Japanese eatery in a small town run by Japanese staff. Had the premium beef shabu shabu set (2nd from top), tempura and a matcha tiramisu. The 50/50 split shabu shabu stock was nice. The clear, dashi konbu stock was very 'clean', light and easy to drink after cooking. Definitely a much more authentic experience vs other would be "japanese" places. If you prefer sauce drenched 'heavy' tasting food, look elsewhere.

Tonight was a late dinner and what a perfect way to satisfy a hungry tummy. Wagyu shabu shabu with udon. The creamy soup was delicious, just the right amount of sweetness to comfort a soul and wash away a tough working week. This was for two people. Love that they had plenty of vegetables. The service is always so friendly and helpful.

Beautiful food served by a friendly and knowledgeable server. Really delicious seared salmon and kingfish sushi. Nice shabu shabu, miso eggplant, agadashi tofu, mixed veg tempura and gyōza. Houjicha creme brulee was a great surprise for desert too. Lovely place.
