Malay Malay Haymarket

We were at paddy’s & wanted to eat in a few instead of the food court at market city. The food was amazing. The fried noodles was one of the best I’ve had. I could taste the dragons breath. The laksa was good, the satay sauce was flavourful, the nasi lemak was good but the fried chicken batter was a bit unexpected, it was crunchy but not the usual fried chicken in a Malay fried chicken . The batter was too thick. I’d come back just for the char kway teow.

Malay Malay is located directly opposite Haymarket. It’s less than 10 minutes walk from central station and less than 5 minutes walk from Chinatown light rail station 🚉.

The restaurant is small and only had one staff member taking orders and delivering food, so service is quite slow if you want to order. However, shortly after food came out quite quickly.

The menu has a lot of dishes to choose from, but my friend recommended hainanese chicken dish so we ordered one each. At first glance I thought $15.80 was a bit expensive, but when dish came out I was quite surprised, it was a decent meal. The chicken 🍗 is boneless with/ without skin, then you have a bowl of rice, bowl 🥣 of soup 🍲 and a nice plate of chilli 🌶 & ginger shallot. Personally I would have preferred if the rice was on the same plate but there was a generous amount of chicken.

Overall good quality dish, portion, price is acceptable and service could be slightly improved.

Crab was great, Chili sauce hit the sweet spot.

Noodles were good the manager even made a fresh batch of noodles free of charge after I did not like tge deep fried noodle with the crab

Kudos for the prompt, clean service! When we got here, our family was pretty hungry, so we requested if they could expedite our order. We appreciate that they listened to us and showed compassion. We were genuinely content with what we had. We received the char siu roast duck and the homemade tofu, just to share. It was a truly amazing experience.

Food was delicious, very much enjoyed their Nasi Lemak especially. Satay and Cendol were also good. Helped satisfy my home town food cravings for now :-)

19 Jan 2024: Visited again finally after about 2 years, food is still great. Had the delicious Beef Rendang Egg Noodle which I would order again.

A great spot to hang out and eat lunch with the family! There are many meal options here, practically all of which are amazing in both flavor and appearance! I just ordered their tofu and dried noodles, but it was extremely good, a wonderful meal after a long day. Excellent restaurant serving superb Asian cuisine!

We’ve eaten here on two occasions now and service and food have both been consistently great. Highly recommend their wat dan hor, home made beancurd and nasi lemak. I left my bag behind and a staff member ran up to me to return it. Honest people and honest food! Will definitely be back with my friends and family!

The mud crab with Singapore chili sauce is so good. Service was quick and the staff is also friendly.

Best hainan chicken rice ever!!!! No bones in chicken, rice seasoning was perfect. Pipi dish has a bit strong flavour. Dumpling skin is so thick, i dont recommend it. Except the dumpling i was so happy overall, must visit again.

Assam Laksa was a bit too sour and sweet for our liking and might skip that the next time.
Definitely keen to try other dishes here.

The crispy roast duck and chicken is excellent value for the money, it was prepared to perfection, isn't dry, and tastes very unique. Kudos to the chef and staff for a job well done. Excellent location for a nice lunch.

My sister and I were able to get some dried noodles, I believe we ordered the roast duck egg noodle, as it was suggested by the staff. I was a bit surprised by the huge bowls, which we managed to finish eating, but the amount is substantial once you try it. Because of how well the components complemented one another, it was actually quite addictive. I consider myself lucky to taste and wish to return to try more because I was satisfied with my experience here.

I went to try the food at this restaurant because when I walked passed every time it's always busy and now I understand why!! Their food is so delicious I had (ชื่อmenu) it was fabulous and the staffs are amazing. Come try their food if you don't want to missed out!!

Delicious satay chicken with a beautiful sauce that I adored the way it was cooked. Not to mention, their chicken wings are excellent. The flavor of honey goes really well with it. Their staff's excellent and courteous attitude is also admirable; they are always available and have quick responses.

I was most impressed by their homemade tofu, which he had for supper. It was cooked to perfection, served in a lovely dish, and tasted even better with the associated sauce. This was my favorite meal, so I'll give it a thumbs up.

Spacious restaurant open late with an awesome variety of Malaysian comfort foods. I had the char mee with chicken which was delicious! Highly recommend!

I ordered the chili mud crab, which is very large for me but tasted really meaty. The flavors added to it make it even more special, and the perfect amount of spice makes it a dish that seafood lovers would adore. A wonderful spot to eat!
