MGM Spices - Your Complete Indian Grocery Store

Been going here for the past 4 years and have found a good variety of Indian and south Asian foods. Always found them friendly and approachable. The gentleman at the counter also gave some recommendations on substitutions that were less spicy for my tastes. All in all a great place

MGM Spices is the Indian grocery shop to go for Indian students studying at UNSW, UniSyd, or the unis/college's in the city area. Reasonable price, large stock, and friendly owner make it a pleasure to shop and chitchat.

My go to shop for lentils, rice, spices and my special ingredient Frozen Methi...

Seems like the only and very old Indian store in Surry Hills. Unnoticeable on the Cleveland St, this shop is the best Indian shops I have ever visited. Not fancy yet it's got everything you need. This shop is the real treat for all desis who live in and around Surry. 😊

Hands down the best Indian store in Sydney! It's been running successfully for 35 years. The store has so much variety and the customer service is excellent. It is like you have walked into a spice market and the prices are so reasonable. A gem in Sydney City, congrats on this success!

One stop shop for all Indian groceries if you're near the city. Stepping into the store feels like being transported to a shop in Delhi or Mumbai. With bollywood music playing, this place gives the stereotypical desi feel. All products are fast moving and this ensures that there is always fresh stock available

Superb Indian grocery store in the heart of Surry Hills. The store is small but crammed with delightful spices, rices, breads, chutneys and all manner of yummy food. The store owner and his son are friendly and very helpful, the prices are very fair and the quality good.
For a non Indian like me this is a great find - I highly recommend it!

I always go here for my spices, achars, pulses, parathas and snacks. They have a massive collection of spices and grains. The staff and very helpful when you have questions about the products. Their prices is reasonable as well (cheaper for some stuff than big supermarkets).

But what the best thing about this place is, how they handled the recent wave of panic buying. The store owner imposed strict limits on essential items so everyone could get what they needed despite him and his staff getting bullied by unreasonable hoarders for imposing limits. I really appreciate his efforts.

This store is a boutique collection of the best Indian food items in Surrey Hills. The store owner is fun to talk to. Feels like home. The staff is friendly and the vibe is warm.

THE Indian departmental store you need! Setup my kitchen Cooker spices etc from here. Extremely reasonable prices and the gentleman at the counter Mr.Vikram is a pleasure to speak to.

It's great, has all the Indian and some Pakistani things in a convenient location. Maybe one day the uncle running the shop will even put up a sign for the shop!

Protip: the Indian spices ColesWorths sells are all heavily watered down, so even though the big shops claim to sell many Indian spices it's like eating rice when you wanted to eat biryani.

Great prices, great selection of spices and frozen stuff. The owner is a super nice old man that I chat with when I’m usually there and unlike other Indian stores the girls that work there are actually helpful and sweet.

Excellent on all counts : service, price, range of products, quality, customer assistance. Bought a iron tava from here. Pack of whole meal roti. Staff knew I wanted whole grain and no preservatives or oils- just water and wheat. No yeast. Yeast night be why bread makes you blower. If this is the case try Spelt from the Newtown health food store. Also bought a bottle of pickle which took me all the back to Arundhati Roy's God of Small Things - who can forget Rachel and Estha and . Will I return? Yes. Every week.

At the moment they are desperately short of space. Huge range and one of the oldest spice shops in Sydney. Most polite and courteous service. Definitely the place to shop at in that area.

Generally has everything we need for a one stop Indian shop. Good visit for dosa batter, frozen Indian snacks, pani puri shells, etc

This is the closest Indian store to where we live - Rozelle. The store is small-ish but has a good selection of pretty much all Indian groceries, masala, and vegetables you'd need. The chapatis are fabulous and we regularly buy the dosa batter too. I also recommend the yoghurt they store, it goes out of stock very quickly. The vadilal brand of frozen green chillies are great too.

Cheaper for a lot of things than Shalimar Spices around the corner.
