Simply the best tidal swimming area I've ever seen. Raised walkway around the outside with ladder access to/from water. Swim area netted off from the river, sandy bottom, large fig trees offer shape in the middle of the day. Excellent toilet facilities, plenty of park bench seating, large fenced playground, push button BBQ and under cover seating. Also a very nice coffee shop opposite that does light meals/ fish and chips.
