Uluṟu Kuniya Walk
The park permit is for 3 days, so as this was on our 4th day we got the permit extended for 2 days which is a free option when booking.

From the opposite side to Mala Walk is Kuniya Walk. This is a very different view of Uluru and so beautiful with waves of erosion through the rock. This is only a short walk with a number of caves, finally leading to a water hole.

We came here about 2 hours before sunset and did the perimiter walk around Uluru. It took us 2 hours walking at a brisk pace stopping around 6 times. Lovely to walk at the time we did as there were very few people and it felt as if we had Uluru to ourselves.

Very toasty; even in the winter. We completed the base hike around the entriety of the rock. It took us about 3 hours and that is considering a moderate amount of stops (probably 5); stopping at least 5 minutes each. The flies are quite a nuisance, so I very much recommend bringing a net to make the walk enjoyable. Sunscreen is a must as well.

Something you need to experience while at Uluru. The cultural significance is huge.

Really enjoyed walking the base of Uluru. You can hire a bike if you want to get around the area a little faster but we preferred just strolling along

Great walk, good guides. Very hot 38 degrees. Bring plenty of water, sun cream, hats and fly nets.
