Tatsuya West Ryde

We had the tatsuya set menu which was delicious and also really good value for money. It is an extra $2 if you are ordering during dinner time but still worth it.

They have excellent fresh food and fantastic portions. The staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We booked online and went during a weeknight. Service was amazing, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The venue is quite small, very cosy and it has a nice busy vibe.
We had a sashimi deluxe platter, soft shell crab roll, salmon roll, vegetarian roll, baby avocado roll and mix tempura. They gave us complimentary miso soup which was great.

Everything was very tasty and beautiful presented. They don’t service alcohol so you can BYO. Corkage is $2.50, they will provide you with glasses.

We had a late lunch.

-Soft shell Crab Roll 9pc
-Takoyaki 8pc
Between 2 people this was alot of food but we wanted to try a range of their food.
Definetly could have ordered 1 less dish and still been full.

Overall all the food was delicious.
Sashmi was really fresh and tender and melted in the mouth. Great presentation
Grilled sushi set was great. Good size pieces.
Takoyaki was tasty and enjoyable. Was served piping hot which made it even better.
Soft shell crab roll was nice. Good piece of crab inside.

Staff were friendly, we got really quick service as there was only 1 other table of diners.

They currently have an extra 10 percent charge in place which is ontop of the billed menu price. I find it understandable with inflation and increasing prices for ingredients. We saw this in a different review so we understood this extra cost before we went.

Overall for what we ordered it was a little expensive but we were happy with the quality. Will definetly be coming back.

Our go to japanese restaurant around where we live. It’s affordable, sashimi and sushi is fresh and great variety for everyone. Very busy over the weekend, try to book if you can, or come early.

Although we had to wait outside for table, service was prompt and efficient. Reasonable sized and unique menu, given how small the restaurant is. Food was fresh, fast and flavourful and came out to be not to expensive. Good lunch spot in a local area. COVID guidelines followed.

Delicious food! Deserves the high rating, portions are generous and the staff are very friendly. Don't know why the mayonaise on the tempura prawn sushi is pink though... Otherwise can highly recommend this place for a local Japanese eat!

Can always rely on this place for decent quality Japanese sushi and udon. Serving size/ portion is good as well. The sashimi is fresh and sliced well. Not expensive but not the cheapest either, however the quality is good and you walk away full.

Tatsuya West Ryde has been a family favourite for many years. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. This was only my second visit since the pandemic and I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of food and presentation seems to have gone to a higher level. Not that there has ever been an issue with quality. The Don Katsu was excellent as always. There are signs saying there is a 10% increase in menu prices because of higher supply prices, however this is more than compensated for with an extremely generous portion size.

Quality Japanese cuisine in West Ryde, very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Love the complimentary miso soup. The belly sushi set is value for money, around $25 for very thick sashimi style cut salmon and kingfish belly on rice. Grilled sushi set was quite good, crispy prawn sushi roll was a lovely surprise. The green tea was a bit weak for my liking.

I lived 8 years in Japan, and so I’m skeptical about Japanese restaurants here. But I loved my experience at Tatsuya! I had the katsu curry, and it was excellent!

Quaint Japanese restaurant serving very fresh sashimi and sushi. Chefs are highly professional and the serving sizes are very generous. Plenty of street parking nearby, this place is a local delight.

The female staff who served us was very nice and friendly. Small restaurant and we waited for abt 10 mins on Friday night.
Sushi are fresh and foods are tasted great.

I love the new place. Easy parking inside westryde marketplace. The service of the staff is awesome. Always with a smile. Love their yakiniku beef and agadashi tofu. Tempura is very light and miso soup is spot on.

Sushi was excellent, would highly recommend cooked tuna roll and tempura prawn. Cold soba was also good. Very good prices for the quality and portion sizes!

The best sushi i've had in Sydney so far. Small cozy place, fast service. Grilled sushi set is out of the world.

Probably some of the best sushi in the inner west. Huge fan of Tatsuyas. Their speed of service and the quality of the food make this place a must go for all sushi and sashimi lovers. Also, the karaage chicken is wonderful.

Good food with generous servings. Quick service. Make sure you book if you're coming in after 7pm as we saw a few groups of walk-ins being turned away. I definitely recommend the grilled sushi!
