Used to have no problem here until they had a new phlebotomist. She used to be an artist, and she's only been doing this work for about 18 months. She seemed to be more nervous than I was. She couldn't find the vein that everyone else can, then she used a rubber glove filled with hot water to try and raise the vein. When that didn't work, she said that perhaps I was dehydrated. I replied that I had had drinks prior to arrival, but she then said that coffee didn't count as caffeine is dehydrating. After a couple of failed attempts in my arm, she then tried a cannula in my hand, also without success. Her advice then was to come back later, when another staff member could "have a go". Not going there again.
