This site is a historical source of coal for the early landholders in the area. The site provides a large overhang suitable for shelter in bad weather, and a great place to camp or to regroup or rendezvous. In the past there has been a visitor's book for people to sign which assists emergency services in the event of a search and rescue.

Nice location for an overnighter. Easy hike from Kanangra Walls Lookout. Several flat spots for camping, but bring a sturdy groundsheet due to the sharpish gravel in places.
