Great food that is prepared in front of you.

So much fun watching a skilled Japanese Chef slicing sashimi and carefully arranging it around the bowl.

A great experience and very tasty food.

This place is amazing for authentic Japanese! Words alone can not express how good the food is here. The chefs are amazing and are super nice too, making the meal a very pleasant experience.
The atmosphere is really good as it is small it gives a nice calm feeling while enjoying your meal.
I really enjoyed my entire meal and will certainly recommend Dining Akashi to everyone I know! I can't wait to come back for another meal here! 😋💛

I had a wonderful dining experience at this authentic Japanese restaurant. The set dinner menu evolves on a monthly basis. During my visit in August, it was tempura offerings. The tempura was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sashimi was fresh and flavorful. The Japanese rice was soft and fluffy. The Japanese chef was kind to come out to chat with us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

This Japanese restaurant in my list for so long. I finally had it!!! So excited when I walked in.
My favourite is the mushroom from second course. Really juicy and sweet, full of umami flavour from mushroom 🤩
And Asakashi miso soup was bitterness but sweet in back tongue🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Thank you guys for amazing experience!
ご馳走様でした!!

Not in Japan, but might as well be with the quality of food that we had! ☺ dinner was so delicious & delightful with a good company 🥢🍣

I love the change of menu every month, making us want to return to the restaurant.

The price is also great for the amount that you're getting ☺ if you ever want to do a 20-course meal, I'll sign up for it, Chef!

Thank you, Chef, for looking after us 😍 おいしい です╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

An authentic Japanese restaurant that has a dinner omakase tasting menu with counter, table and outdoor seating. For more action, you can book at the six counter seats where you can see some of the food preparation by the counter chef.

Though the dishes alone don't particularly stand out as being extraordinary, the food overall is delicious with Japanese flavours combined with the quality and plating and which for the price is very well worth it.

Service is ok. Sometimes the staff may only face one of the diners to explain a dish making it hard for the others to hear, but at least they leave the menu card on the table.

Overall a very enjoyable meal at a very good price.

What a gem in the burbs! Visited a couple of times over the past 12 months once ordering ala carte for lunch and recently, the 8 course omakase for dinner. Both times, excellent food and service.

Counter seating is always a treat watching the chefs prepare fresh sashimi and dishes right under your nose. Tempura batter is light but flavourful.

The 8 course omakase, at very reasonable pricing fills you up for sure! The menu changes from time to time, so make sure to check out their website beforehand.

The dine-in area is small with seating for only 14 guests, however the alfresco dining allows for more, albeit a little useless in the rain. Reservations highly recommended and mandatory for omakase sessions.

BYO Sake at a reasonable $6/bottle!

Will definitely be returning soon.

Tried different Donburi dishes and they were all yummy. My fav was the chirasi don. Lunch on menu and serves omakase for dinner. Very pleasant dining experience.

I highly recommend this authentic Japanese restaurant. The store can only seat less than 20 people, so it is not too noisy. We were arranged to sit at the bar facing the sushi chef, which had a very Japanese atmosphere. The set meal is about eight dishes in total, and it took about two hours to finish the meal, but each dish was delicious. They will change the menu once a month, and will come back next time to try a different meal!

Finally made it to Dining Akashi for lunch and it was fabulous. Our friends have been raving about this quaint little place and it totally lived up to the reputation. The food was beautiful, top quality produce, perfectly prepared and most of all DELICIOUS. everything was just spot on. The staff were lovely and friendly. And the ambience cosy and intimate. We love little spots like this that feel personal and special. We cannot wait to come back and try the famed set dinner menu. 10/10.

We had casual lunch at Akashi. The chef was very efficient and we enjoyed watching him prepare dishes.
Will definitely come back for dinner and try their omakase menu.

Bookings are essential, limited seating for 20 person.
Our group of 5 had a 2 hours sitting with a 9 course set menu. $78/person.
See attached pictures of the December 2022 menu.
Ask for hot tea, drinks are byo.

Great little Japanese place. They only serve Set menu for dinner. Their deep fried food is their specialty. You need to book this place if you want to dine in. Will I go again? Yes, but will not go often. Their menu changes as well, I think change monthly.

This place is a must visit if you love Japanese food. They have a fixed menu option which gives you a real taste of many authentic Japanese flavours in very creative ways. The portions are good for a set menu and at the end they provide a rice dish which will fill you up if you’re not full already. The tempura is really outstanding here and the produce is always fresh. Have been here multiple times and each time has been a very special experience. If you like Japanese food - then you must come here, it’s a small venue so make sure you book ahead of time!

Updated November 2022
- our second visit for lunch again, 6 months on, this time just my wife & I for lunch date
- a fantastic experience & funnily we ordered the same mains again without even checking what we had last time
- it was another quality experience with the staff operation a poetry in motion once you walk in, to the order taking, serving and finishing, all within an hour allocated, with even ample time to spare to walk back to our car within the 1 hr free parking limit

1 bonus new tip
is the bathrooms are located behind the building, by turning left from restaurant down a back alley to a small building at the corner

My wife and I decided to check out this lovely Japanese eatery on our friends recommendation and we can now also say they are worth a try.
We booked for lunch on a weekday, and the place is nice, intimate and cosy with less than 20 inside sitting. The small outdoor area can take a small group booking of ~10 when we were there.
The interior is small but it has a very nice japanese feel. The menu for lunch is sufficient with enough variety to tempt all tastebuds, and we found the price reasonable with the quality served.
Staff is attentive and polite enough, with a top up of japanese tea once for my wife.
We had the Osawa Wagyu Beef teriyaki set and the 10pce sashimi set with an extra side dish of sashimi too.
The quality of the sashimi is good and fresh, while the wagyu beef is juicy and tasty. The set lunch includes miso soup, rice and also karaage chicken and edamame, which were all lovely.
We saw other patrons with their other dishes, and would love to try them next time from their sheer enjoyment.
We will be back and will also love to try their dinner degustation menu soon next time we sort out a babysitter!
Overall a great first impression for lunch.

Tips 1 : online booking is for dinner only so ring to book for lunch
Tips 2 : ask for sushi bar seating if you like to watch the chef preparing your sashimi, otherwise the table seating for a more intimate setting.
Tips 3 : one hour free parking available on the street, which may be sufficient for lunch. Otherwise it’s $2.20/hr
Tips 4 : there is no child high chair, so be prepared to have your baby on your lap if you brought your bundle of love, as we did

Love this restaurant for great quality food and reasonably priced omakase. Their menu changes every month and have classic and unique dishes that are executed really well. It is a small restaurant so booking in advance is a must. Their food is really delicious but don’t expect to leave feeling super full. Would definitely come again!

One of the best authentic Japanese food in Perth. It feels like in Japan. Delicious tempura set and sashimi. Great set menu. Place is kind of small, need bar type environment and drinks to make it better. But if it's just for meal, this is definitely one of the best choice.

A Japanese restaurant by the Canning Hwy in Applecross. Next to Clancy's fish pub. I heard that their speciality is tempura. So I tried their tempura donburi for lunch. For accompaniment I ordered sashimi. Both dish were excellent. The sashimi altho small in portion was very fresh and tempura was one of the best tempura I've ever had.

Service was friendly and food did not take long to come out. Selection of lunch menu is not many and I heard that for dinner it's a set menu only of around $78 per person. The place is small and there are tables outside if dining inside feels too cramped. 1 hr free parking with ticket is available at the street next to Clancy's fish pub.

Seriously one of the best Japanese places in Perth. Would rather eat here over Nobu any day. Nice vibes, friendly staff in a modern authentic experience. Remember to bring your favourite wine as it's BYO.
