Castaways Resort & Spa Mission Beach

This is far and away the most gorgeous hotel in the area. The beach is stunning and almost private. Absolutely stunningly beautiful views of the ocean. The restaurant is great and the bar serves amazing cocktails. Just a wonderful hotel top to bottom in a delightful little beach town of mission beach!

Friendly staff, great food, and excellent location. Rooms need a bit of an update buy good layouts.

Would go back again with the family.

Amazing place to come and stay. It has a nice beachfront location, and great amenities and service. Ensure that you book the Beachfront room as that will guarantee a view of the beach. We didn't go to the restaurant as it was super expensive and had little items on the menu, but instead dined at the local restaurants. Pool is nice, but can get cold. Rooms are nice, but they could use a little refurbishment as they are starting to get old.

We had our wedding at Castaways and they went above and beyond to make the weekend perfect. From faultless service each night in Buko, to creating a back up plan for the entire wedding when the weather wasn’t looking good, to running a reception with 100+ people perfectly smoothly - we couldn’t be more grateful. Our wedding coordinator made the perfect call on the day that allowed our ceremony & reception to go ahead as planned with only a light sprinkle of rain. The food was delicious, they were super flexible with drink options, table layouts, bride & groom meals etc etc, pretty much any request we had they were happy to accomodate. They even allowed us to have our dogs not only at the ceremony but the reception too! We couldn’t recommend Castaways more for your wedding or just a weekend away. 5+ stars

We had our wedding at Castaways and we can honestly say they made our dreams come true, such a wonderful place with a caring and qualified team to help you.
Our beach wedding was so easy to plan with the attentive care of Angele who was responsive and informative even after the wedding day was over. On the big day we had wonderful support from Jo and in particular Martin who served us throughout our reception. The beach was set up beautifully with the arbour and the meal at Buko was delicious, our guests are still raving about the food!!
We stayed at Castways for a total of 5 nights and throughout our stay the staff were brilliant, big shout out to Hannah, Daniel and Dennis who saw ALOT of us at Buko during our stay and were brilliant throughout. We stayed in one of the Island spa suites and they have recently been modernised and look great, there was lots of space for the wedding day hair and make up.
We will definitely be back :)

Absolutely fantastic location - right on the beachfront. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves great food and coffee all day. We had an 'island suite' on the top floor overlooking the pool - this appeared to have been partially renovated recently. Bedroom was up a flight of stairs on a mezzanine floor and had lovely plush carpet. The suite consisted of kitchen facilities, dining and lounge space, balcony, two showers and vanities (one upstairs and one down) but the only toilet was downstairs. The two bathrooms were large with plenty of space on the vanity bench, large mirrors and very well lit. Plenty of storage space in the bedroom, including a desk area.
WIFI and internet speed were exceptionally good. A great place to relax - we will definitely visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Castaways. The beachfront location is perfect. Super comfortable beds, great pool, spectacular view and very friendly service. The restaurant was A++ with a fabulous quality menu and good cocktails. Highly recommend for a tropical getaway.

I am happy about our choice to stay here. The main thing that has led to my 5/5 rating was the food and restaurant service. Yes, the location was amazing; being on the beach and able to walk straight down was a plus, but for a restaurant in a resort, this is one of the best we have experienced. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was faultless and delicious! There was a large selection of menu items, not only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the drinks menu as well.
The restaurant food, service, and location of the resort made it easy to overlook the slightly dated feel of the furniture and bathroom in our room. It was clean and pleasant, however, not to the high standard that the remainder of our stay displayed.
Despite this, we will 100% be back. We stayed in Mission Beach on a whim, never having a need to go there. Our experience will ensure our return!

Gluten free chips with truffle mayo at sunset.... Perfect. All menus have gf and vegetarian, including at least one vegiac, option clearly marked.

We had an amazing stay here over a two night period. Staff we’re friendly and went well out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Well kept room that opens up practically at the beach.

We had dinner at BUKO's, great food and very good staff.

The location of castaways is breathtaking! Rooms are clean, comfy beds and the best shower head I’ve ever used!
The restaurant and food is just beautiful. The staff there are so accommodating and restaurant manager was next level. Denis made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much to ask for. He really made our stay even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back.

We are from UK Visiting our daughter and son in law. We couldn't fault anything. The room was lovely, staff so pleasant, but most of all the food and cocktails were totally amazing!!

This is not a 5 star hotel and doesn’t pretend to be - it’s a solid 4 star hotel in the most stunning location you can imagine. The rooms are indeed a bit tired and run down, however they were clean and comfortable, and the big balconies with day beds on them to capture the beach views were amazing for watching sunrise, sunset and everything in between. The hotel has an excellent on site restaurant and bar, Buko, that had fantastic food and an impressive wine list. They get busy so I’d definitely recommend making a booking for dinner. There is an adequate gym but we chose to go for beach runs in either direction each day. It is only a five minute walk north to the main township with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from. Staff were uniformly lovely. We had a great time here in this paradise on earth and would definitely return.

Castaways Resort is an amazing place to stay. The resort staff are very friendly and accommodating to families, but it's also perfect if you are looking for a romantic getaway. The restaurant serves exceptional meals and the staff are always so friendly and customer service focused. I have stayed there 4 times and each time I leave feeling relaxed and very well fed! Also, its just a short 5 minute walk to the Beachtown shopping village from the resort. If you are looking to relax and embrace the beauty of the wet tropics, Castaways at Mission Beach is well worth a visit.

We had an excellent stay last week. We had dinner each night at the hotel and the staff were friendly, efficient and indeed excellent! Food was excellent as well.

This is a top spot! Our house (part of the resort) was very clean and had everything that we needed. It had the wow factor so close to beach!

What a lovely boutique feel. Mission beach is a quiet little seaside town. Castaways resort has 2 great pools, full bar and great restaurant. Family rooms are a great size and updated modern ensuite bathroom. View from the room out to the beach was awesome to wake up to. Fly screens on balcony door would be a nice update, that way you could enjoy the sea breeze without bugs coming into the room. Lift was out for a few days but came good in time for us taking bags down on final day. Staff were really attentive, happy to have a little chat here and there which makes you feel really welcomed. Would definitely stay here again. Some small shops and eateries nearby, there's even a chocolate farm & factory. Fishing and reef tours, locally run, so there's plenty to do. Great location. We even saw a cassowary!

We've stayed at Castaways Resort a few times and have really enjoyed it, but unfortunately our latest booking was cancelled due to the Brisbane lockdown.
We'll have to book again in the near future , as this place is easily one of our favourites.
Right on the beach, awesome swimming pool and very friendly and helpful staff, great restaurant and the most wonderful views.
Can't wait to get back here again.
