The Darling

I had an amazing stay. Highly recommend. From the moment I walked into the Foyer I was greeted with enthusiasm and care. The staff all want to make your stay comfortable. the room was well equipped with everything that I needed and the bed was comfortable. Fantastic!

We stayed her for our anniversary this week and it was amazing! We were upgraded to the Jewel Suite and it was huge with absolutely spectacular views of the harbour! Staff were very kind and attentive, room was luxurious and well appointed. Highly recommended!

This hotel is the epitome of luxury. From the moment we arrived, Yvette and the whole Darling team ensured to provide us with the best experience possible. We stayed in the Stellar Suite, which was absolutely perfect, not a single thing I would change. This has quickly become my favourite hotel in Sydney and I am sure to return for all future stays.

What stood out the most has to be the staff, their genuine care and hospitality shown through each team member. I have never experienced the generosity, professionalism and friendliness like what I did at the Darling. Thank you Yvette and team for making our stay so memorable.

A very pleasant one night stay. After a smooth efficient check-in with very friendly and professional staff we made our way to our room. The Jewel suite was clean and very spacious with all the trimmings. Our package included breakfast at the Sokyo restaurant which was delicious. Highly recommended.

If you’re one who values quality service, beautiful accomodation and a great rewards program, then you HAVE to try the Star!

We were greeted at the front desk at The Darling by the lovely Yvette, who upon arrival made us feel relaxed and comfortable. She even recommended places to go for amazing coffee and was super sweet about everything. She was our first interaction and impression of the Star -such a pleasure to speak with and extremely helpful with all of our questions- a 10/10.

Because we were actually celebrating my partners graduation, the staff took it upon themselves to send a bottle of wine and a congratulatory hand-written card to our room. Not to mention the room itself- It was ABSOLUTELY stunning! We stayed in the Jewel Suite at the Darling and it is by far one of the most gorgeous places we have ever stayed.

I would also recommend the Spa at the Star- best to book in advance along with your stay- such a pampering experience and the food perfect way to start the day.

Can’t go without mentioning the incredible Ian, the concierge, who paid us a special visit just before checking out. He brought with him a bag of chocolates and cold water to send us on our way. He spent time chatting with us- he was so genuine and friendly and it’s a kind gesture that we will remember forever.

All of the staff here are friendly and are willing to help at any moment. We rate this hotel an easy 5 stars, and we are already planning our next night away! Can’t wait to go back.

M6 absolute favourite go-to hotel to stay at in Sydney. The rooms are super lush and the experience is always one I come back for as the staff are outstanding here 🫶🏼

A beautiful & clean hotel with super comfortable beds & well appointed.
My only suggestion is, your pool area cleanliness is not up to standard. We were there for most of the day on Thursday from 3 pm - 7pm, towels were all over the floors, after guests had left . The poolside tables were left with food scraps from at least 2 or 3 orders. The staff were not overly busy & it took repeated requests for them to clean the tables so we could actually put our food on it.
The 2 days we stayed at the darling, unfortunately the outdoor spa was not fully functional, we purposely booked accommodation at the darling for the specific reason of having a quieter spa to relax in.
We hope you get it fixed soon.

We stay regularly on business at the Darling and this is the first review I've felt compelled to write. Terrific location, quiet rooms, comfortable bed, attentive service, friendly reception staff and staff in general. The only downside - The lighting panels/switches in the rooms are infuriating! So bad in fact everytime we stay here we almost decide never to return, they are just impossible to navigate, especially in the dark. Hopefully one day management will see reason and change out the current system for simpler, easier to use lighting.

Such a great way to spend a weekend. The Darling is sensational. From the upgrade to a suite on arrival, to the beautiful day spa, to lounging around the pool, to yummy breakfasts at Soyko, and a short talk to The Lyric Theatre, I loved it all. Service was impeccable across the entire facility. I love The Darling.

Excellent hotel with spacious rooms, with electronically controlled blinds and lights. Rooms have all the modern coveniences, and the hotel service is great. It is located in the Star, where there are convenience stores, restaurants, and even an adjoining casino. Conveniently located from all the other services in Darling Harbor and the Big Bus City tour stop. I had no complaints in this hotel on my 3 days stop in Sydney.

Was a wonderful stay for my wife and I. Like stepping away from routine and in a true holiday weekend. Rooms are outstanding, spa treatment awesome and staff work to cater for everything you need or want. Just a great stay. Will be back.

My partner & I stayed here for my birthday and everything was 10/10! Yvette at the front desk was the absolute best in accommodating us during our stay. She was super helpful and kind. I could not have asked for a better experience!!

Great hotel but can be disappointed when busy. Can take along time for service when they are under the pump. Expect more for a 5-star hotel. Rooms are nice and staff usually pleasant. Not recommended for family stays.Will keep coming back though

We had a wonderful evening at the Darling. From the moment we pulled up and checked in Yvette at reception was incredibly helpful and gave us some great advice. We received a complimentary upgrade and the room was incredible, the meals at the Star were wonderful and the staff amazing. We will definitely be coming back again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Darling in Sydney. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Throughout my stay, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my visit was perfect. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our family needs was truly commendable. Whether it was assisting with restaurant recommendations, arranging transportation, or simply offering a friendly smile, their dedication to providing exceptional service was evident at every turn.

What truly stood out to me was the genuine kindness and sincerity displayed by each member of the staff. It was evident that they were not only passionate about their work but also genuinely cared about the well-being and comfort of their guests. From the front desk personnel, doorman’s to the housekeeping staff, everyone I encountered went out of their way to ensure that I felt welcome and valued.

I would like to commend Alan M for his exceptional service during my recent stay, his professionalism and friendliness left a lasting impression, and I truly appreciated his dedication to delivering outstanding service. He spoilt our family with welcome treats and a beautiful handwritten card with kind welcoming words. The treats continued throughout our stay, from chocolates on the bed every night to slippers by our beds each evening and fresh fruits on the first night! We were truely spoilt. When we visit Sydney, the Darling is our go to place, our home away from home.

Stayed for a week with my husband - everything went very well, but I was most impressed with the attentive housekeeping team. They're professional and helpful - ultimately, service is what differentiates a good five-star hotel. So thanks very much to Great hotel with contemporary, classy decorations. Convenient location. We stayed for 2 nights and dream about going back already. Impeccable service, especially from the lovely Michelle (at the front desk). She went out of her way to make our stay informative and enjoyable. I haven't eperienced this type of service at any other hotel here or abroad. The room was absolute luxury, and housekeeping did a phenomenal job making our room look beautiful. The turn down device provided and room amentities are a lovely touch. Well worth the money!!!

My partner and I have a yearly tradition of treating ourselves to a night at The Darling. We feel out of all the hotels this hotel is the most luxurious feel, so comfortable and staff are always so friendly and helpful. There is also incredible value I feel for prices paid and so many inclusions offered. This year though our treat to ourselves was even more special though due to Yvette who kindly checked us in on 11th February. She was so friendly and warm and you could tell really enjoyed her job and cared about clients. Yvette literally went above and beyond for us and even treated us to a complimentary upgrade and other goodies to ensure our staycation was romantic and comfortable. This meant the world to us more than Yvette will ever know as what she didn't know is that we were also celebrating some news regarding my health. We will always remember this weekend and her kindness which is rare in a world like today. Thank-you Yvette for sharing your kindness with us and your amazing hospitality. We look forward to many more years of our yearly treat to ourselves at The Darling.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Darling. The hotel is conveniently located next to lots of restaurants and public transportation. The staff here is friendly and very attentive. We felt well taken care of during our stay and will recommend to anyone visiting Sydney.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. They were professional and friendly, and I could not have asked for more. The room was beautiful and spotless. It had a lovely view and was very modern. I would happily come back any time.
