Just Wow!! I wish I knew of this place when I was a kid. Absolutely magical. The staff are also really lovely and helpful. Will be taking my little one here for many years to come. Thank you for creating such a wonderful space 😃

This is a beautiful space, just what Freo needed. Our fave family bookstore. I’d like to point out the absolute 11/10 customer service of the male employee today (who my older child thought was straight out of cool book, in a complementary way). My young twins, he will remember were a little cranky at 4pm, needing a toilet break and nap, and he handled us so well, never making me feel overwhelmed or flustered, or judged, he helped me choose some funny books for the kids, and sorted it out so effortlessly for us before we left. Great recommendations included. Can’t wait to come back again, we also loved the range of kids cookbooks, choose your adventure/ solve a mystery and spot and search books, but all of the beautiful classics, non fiction and Aboriginal books were appreciated just as much too. A book for every child’s interest.

Paper Bird is an absolute joy of a place. Don't let the label Children's Books put you off coming inside. There are a lot of gems here that may be directed for children, but won't lose their impact to adult readers. The space has a lot of surprises, make sure you don't miss going upstairs. Bring your children here, it might kickstart their love in reading - they'll be the better for it.

What a gorgeous little place this is, it is our FAVOURITE bookshop to visit with the kids, to choose those special reads for birthday's or beautiful gifts for little friends.
The owner here ( I think she is the owner) is pure magic, always welcomes us with a smile and knows every book on the shelves. She has given us countless recommendations for our kids and we absolutely adore every one of them, there is nowhere else you can go where the staff know so much about the books, the content, the writing style, the authors and the themes suitable for each age. A pure delight and pleasure every visit! We are so grateful for this beautiful space!

Fantastic range of books, most of them are hard cover with beautiful illustrations so it's a place to head if you want a book that can be kept for a lifetime.

I held my book launch for "Think Savvy, Revise Smart" at Paper Bird today. It was the perfect venue. Jennifer and her team were so helpful and accommodating. Attendees commented how 'fab' the gallery upstairs was. Beautiful ambience and paintings displayed. Would highly recommend this venue and booking through SpacetoCo.

Paper Bird is so delightful! Who wouldnt want to visit a childrens bookshop with such a calm creative vibe and super helpful, encouraging staff! Our kids have enjoyed joining the bookclubs on offer also!

Oh my, oh my, oh my. If there was a sixth star Paper Bird would get it! I really don't know who enjoys this place more, my wife and I or or two boys. The selection is incredible from baby block books to teenage reading material. We have to set ourselves a limit on how many books we but when we go in. There are books from independent publishers and mainstream. Australia specific and rewritten history and science books for kids. Please go here! Please support this shop! One of the highlights for us when we go to Freo.

Very unassuming from the outside, but time suddenly stops when you step into the shop. Lovely atmosphere, cozy size. Great range of reading for kids and the young at heart.
