Good for small kids.

Went to this place with the family for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy. The place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside.

There was a room with a few tables and toys all over the place, so we took a table there. Room heated so the small kids won't be too cold in winter. Some toys to occupy my little daughter. There was a sand pit at the back that both my son and daughter enjoyed playing in.

Food also good. I ordered Chilli Eggs. Must have been about 22 to 23 dollars. An Eggs on Toast was about 16. A Kid's Eggs on Toast 7 or 8. From memory coffee was good.

Now that Ol' mate is back in the kitchen, get down abd get your chilli eggs!!

Coffee is good, staff are friendly, looks to be excellent for parents though - great play areas etc.

My fiance and I have been here a few times. It has a retro vibe with different themed rooms. Like; a children's play area, cafe front outside, inside, cafe back outside, old school section and more. It's a pretty chilled atmosphere throughout. The coffee, orange juice, toasted sandwiches and apple crumble waffles were all good. It's a nice experience for those who want to try something different.

Steam Haus is great for coffee enthusiasts. The brew is really nice, complemented by a variety of cabinet food and meals to order. Ideal for post-morning bike ride refueling. The outdoor seating near the car park adds to the appeal. The staff are fantastic—friendly and accommodating. A great spot overall, blending quality coffee, tasty food options, and excellent service. Highly recommended, especially for those in need of a post-ride pick-me-up.

Best carrot cake baked in house. Great atmosphere with little hidey holes and Ramdon rooms. DEFFo a must try especially if you a carrot cake fan lol

While the Budd Car mural, watching you order, is more recent than the discovery of the beverage bean you're requesting. It is a stylish reminder that this place is about groups of people being together and going somewhere. In this case, that journey is conversation and desirable bites.

I’m over on holiday from Wellington NZ (coffee snob capital) and the girls out the front of Steam Haus were so awesome to deal with! Friendly as , and made an awesome coffee! Keep up the great work team I’ll pop in again before I go back home!

I went here for Mother’s Day this morning and all of the girls working out the front were so caring and sweet. This place is a great place to go if your after good coffee and yummy breakfast!!

We love Steam Haus! Consistently good coffee, tasty breakfasts and the setup from front of shop, the dining rooms, kids room and back deck are all awesome. And open most holidays!

Today I met a barista working on the floor names Camilla and I want to write a personal review for her as she was excellent! She was very personable and had great customer service even on an especially busy day where she was the only one working on the floor. She catered to the guests well, while not getting overwhelmed handling it all. She also went out of her way to correct an error that was made to my order from my previous visit which demonstrates her kindness and hospitality.

I was a frequent visitor here from 2016-2019 and then completely forgot about it as my daughter grew up and the pandemic happened. I visited this place today and my goodness its exactly where I left it (actually even better their menu has more vegan,vegetarian options). Their carrot cake has to be on everyone's 100 things to eat before you die list. The staff is sooo sweet and super welcoming. Good job guys absolutely love it

Casual seating areas in an old shop.

Haven't tried the food yet, just a very nice coffee... and...shared a delicious, "made by the bosses' mother", carrot cake, with a crunchy top on the cake then cream cheese icing. One of the nicest cakes we've EVER had!! 🤯

My 5 stars if for the coffee and the cake me and my partner had. Very nice.

Service was a little rushed at the end of day and I felt as if they had somewhere better to be. To be fair it was 2:03 so they were ready to clock off but I don’t see what the big rush is.
(No indication as to the shop shut time until you’re inside and already ordered, and the penny drops, people want to leave).
After careful thought, I couldn’t critique the shop for it closing on time but customer service is paramount for return patronage. I think at the end of the day, attitude may become sightly lackadaisical and the staff were happy to chit chat with each other, I was unaware the coffee was ready as no one called out (I think this was exacerbated by the fact I felt we needed to be close to the exit door as possible).
My partner compared this to her previous work experience at max Brenner and in retrospect they should have put more effort into advising us it was ready.

But I’m happy we at least had the opportunity to order.

I’ll be back soon, when I get the opportunity and will see how good the bacon and eggs are. Will revise once back.

The coffees are amazing and all of the cakes are devine

It's a great cafe. It's a house with different rooms with different themes. Very busy and sitting on the back porch with the succulents is wonderful 🥰

Basic but delicious breakfast meals. Can't pass up a scrumptious benny! The sweet treats up the front counter were amazing, a great add on with their coffee.

Great spot for a quick lunch on a weekend. The lunch menu is mostly sandwiches, but absolutely delicious. I had a Reuben sandwich and it was served with a house made pickle. Yum! The back veranda is dog friendly with multiple water bowls and a couple of mats for furry friends.
