The foods are yummy in very reasonable price.We had the buffet and more together with our friends,and it was indeed a great experience for us ❤😊

We celebrated a 90th birthday at this lovely Cafe today. The cake which I organised by phone was gorgeous and delicious!! The orders were taken as we were arriving but were all brought out together! Service was great, happy team members and very nice for a private party within the main Cafe area! We highly recommend this Cafe as a great place to celebrate an event.

Good coffee went perfectly with the Peach Blossom Cake. Lunch was equally delicious- the Vietnamese Chicken and glass noodle salad however, I was definitely eyeing off the other ladies Calamari and salad. It was a close call! Going to try it next time! Parking is very good, venue is lovely, inviting and clean. The view from the cafe of the lake was very relaxing and added to the overall ambiance.

My family have been visiting the cafe every week from October 2022 until March 2023. We have been visiting mostly for lunch but sometimes for breakfast, and twice for dinner.

The food quality is excellent. We usually have toasted sandwiches but the baked goods are also great (sausage rolls and cakes). The toasted sandwiches are the best you can get outside of your own house.

The cafe serves a wide variety of milkshakes/thickshakes including awesome spearmint shakes. They aren't on the menu but you can ask.

We have only had dinner twice. Once we had prawn pasta and were disappointed by the prawns but it was our own fault for ordering prawns at Gatton. The other dinner we ordered was a chicken schnitzel with roast veges and it was excellent.

The family who run the cafe are very friendly and don't mind when you ask for the furthest table every single week. They don't blink when you turn up dirty and dusty from the field.

If I had a single complaint it would be that most of the times the milkshakes and iced lattes came in a disposable plastic cup and not a glass.

We hired Colonial Catering for a party for 50 people at our venue recently and they were amazing. The food was excellent and ample, the staff were friendly and unobtrusive, and the event ran very smoothly allowing me to enjoy the party with our guests. Job well done! Absolutely the best in the business. We hired colonial catering for our wedding on the weekend and OMG the food was amazing! They went above and beyond for us. The food was amazing! We decided to have canapés and tasting plates for a cocktail style reception instead of a sit down meal at our wedding. I was worried about my decision of not having a sit down meal wondering id guests would be satisfied. But the moment everyone started eating everyone just wanted to eat more, the food was absolutely amazing! Every guest raved about how amazing it was. They went above and beyond. Their staff are very well trained and their servers did their job immaculately. Thank you so much colonial catering for being apart of our special day and making sure we were filled with delicious food! It was amazing! You went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful. THANK YOU

Food was excellent, absolutely faultless. I had the eggs Benedict, other members of our group had avocado on toast, as well as a special crumbed steak recommended by the chef, which was apparently delightful. Food was delivered very quickly, with the young lady taking our order on the day presenting professionally and taking our orders quickly and accurately. Discussion with the chef and apprentice chef detailed local produce supporting local farmers, and we found the friendly welcoming staff even more engaging as a result of their warmth and approachable manner.
The location of the restaurant provides a lovely view over the lake from indoors and outdoors, and the provision of a 'Kidz Korner' replete with children's equipment kept my children busy between bites of food so we could enjoy our catch up with family.

We are definitely looking forward to attending there when next we visit Gatton.

Amazing in every way! The food and drinks were delicious, the counter and waiter staff were polite and the food came quickly. There were 7 tradies who ordered in front of me yet my food still came out quicker than Macdonalds. Extremely happy with the service. Pricing was great. Food was incredible

Best spot in Gatton for a lovely meal friendly staff and great atmosphere for a comfortable outing.

A nice little spot overlooking the lagoon. Visited for a quick family catch up and decided to try the food even though I was already full. The menu was big enough that I imagine anyone could find something to try, and I ended up ordering the chicken and couscous salad. Fresh local produce that was crisp in your mouth, with a great flavor combination of seasoned chicken and slightly deep fried baked sweet potato that will draw me back for a second visit. Worth a stop as right next door is the museum and war history displays.

A birthday celebrated at the Colonial Cafe/Restaurant was more than we could have asked for. The service was first class, friendly, polite and extremely helpful. We were a party of 14 which included young children. We all enjoyed the food, fully licensed, prices were excellent. Cannot fault a thing. Well done to entire staff, Thankyou for an enjoyable evening.

Always have a good meal and a big portion. Staff are friendly and actually happy to see you. Only down side is that it can get a bit noisy in there with everyone talking

Fiona is friendly and welcoming. Sunday buffet was full and fresh. Coffee was hot and great.

Smoresboard Sat night was to die for, food was delicious and plentiful. Locals need to support this venue more.

Great all you can eat on Saturday night and Sunday morning for breakfast for $30, going up to $35 from July 1

Food and staff are great. Nice end for a country drive before heading home
