Bring back memories. Beautiful scenery. The interior of the train is quite sad to be honest. May need some attention.

Replying to Hotham Valley: we enjoyed it very much. Went on the Diesel Ranger. Some of the windows wouldnt open and people queueing to use limited bathrooms. Overall, still a nice experience cheers

It was a 2hours ride with an amazing view of the landscape. The steam train departs and arrive to the station on time. The staff are super friendly and they reassure the passengers that everything is going to be okay. There is a snack shop on board the train where you can get chips, beer and some beverages on board. Very beautiful experience and this is our 2nd time here. Its amazing.

Great Train trip, just over a 90min from Perth. Really worth the 2 hours return trip.

Sweet! Only 1hr and 40mins drive from Perth, 5 Stars are attributed to the dedicating people who working here. I think a lot of them are volunteering but you can see the genuine smiles on their faces.

We took the Forrest Train, had a chat to Carol and the young folk who is the captain. They are both very friendly. Dinner train is booked out before New Year 2020 and next available one will be in April which is after their renovations.

Nature put on different canvas according to seasons. If you come on Summer time, you will see lots of dry trunks. But during winter, streams and creeks will be running and you can see wild flowers in spring!

It would be better to visit when it is under 30C, otherwise taking a Bush walk make you big sweat 😅 😅. Please remember you are allowed to bring your own water and snacks as the trip last an hour +.

Recently went on the dinner train and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere, the food and the volunteer staff were all fantastic. The sheer love and dedication that the volunteers put into keeping this piece of history alive is absolutely meritorious and inspiring. Will definitely be back again.

Nice day out from Perth. Great picnic spot. We went on Sunday so it was Steam ranger .
The steam Ranger tours operate on Sundays . The train has a pantry as well with drinks, snacks and coffee. It was an amazing experience. Nice scenic journey. If you are looking for day trips from Perth this the one not to miss .

Had an amazing dinner in the club car tonight. Service was very prompt and volunteer staff were absolutely friendly.
Food was so delicious I polished the apple crumble then realized I forgot to take a photo. Complimentary port (quite tasty) with the cheese platter was the cream on the top.
Thanks Hotham Railway for an unforgettable evening.
Highly recommended A++++

Small get away from Perth since we can’t go oversea. Very interesting train to let the kids experience and seeing the natural surroundings.

Wonderful couple of hours on this amazing steam railway. Awesome views during the journey with about 20 minutes break when you can see the engine being unhitched and rehitched to the carriages. There is a cafeteria carriage. All done by awesome volunteers (they need more!) Their work might be helped if people took their own rubbish off the train.

This is such a fun trip and the lovely volunteers on Saturday the 25th June were such fun and so efficient and obliging in looking after us. It was a shared birthday celebration and 3 generations of us loved it! I would highly recommend any lover of trains to do it.
