Royal Exhibition Hotel

Great location, great value for money, definitely the hallways do smell musty but the room smells normal.
There is a bit of dust etc but it’s the cheapest place in the area and the staff are so nice and the aircon is excellent. Good sized rooms. There was one window in our room but it was up very high.

Work drinks: the ladies behind the bar were amazing!!! We all ordered various things from the menu, salt n pepper squid, chicken parmigiana, beef burger, 250g steak.... all the food was delicious. The ladies behind the bar are an asset to the establishment.

My partner and I came here for lunch, the menu is easy to read and every option sounds as delicious as the next. Reasonably priced pints and the food was amazing, we both ordered burgers as it was the special for the day ($16 burgers) instead of $20. It has to be the best burger I have had, from the char you can taste on the patty to the perfectly toasted buns, what's not to love? I cannot recommend this place enough!

The overall environment is very calm and professional, the service was fantastic and the ambiance was amazing.

$16 Lunch Specials as well as daily specials are a good touch, looks dated on the outside but the steak lunch was a solid feed and very generous in portion. Surprised there isnt more people eating here for lunch as its pretty quiet and chill.

Great pub, great staff. Been a patron for 5+ years and never seen the hotel kitchen in such a bad state. Great place for a drink, great place to stay, but the food has fallen by the wayside. I've loved this venue and the food for a long time but the recent change of bistro has left me hungry..

Best value for money lunch I’ve ever had. 2 x rump steak + chips and salad, 2 x tall glass sodas, and a plate of salt and pepper squid. The $15 weekday lunch between 11:30-3pm is unbelievable. Our chef (Monday midday) deserves serious plaudits for these dishes. Extremely happy; will be back.

This was my last hotel during a four week Australia trip, and it may just have been the best one as well. Huge, cozy rooms with beautiful furniture, friendly staff, perfect location right across from Central Station, and extremely good value for what you get. Plus, there's a super-cozy pub downstairs, with food that's both inexpensive and very good.

A nice and convenient pub near Central Station. It is great for a meet-up for groups that are based all over Sydney. Better than average food with a nice outside area upstairs.

The place looked dated from the outside. But very impressed once in the rooms. And so close to the CBD.

Great place to stay the rooms clean and the beds comfortable . So convenient for getting around Sydney the light rail is a few hundred metres away and central station right across the street (Chalmers st exit ) the food was excellent and the staff were so lovely and helpful and we were able to leave our luggage there after we checked out so we could explore some more before we returned home we will definitely stay again on our next trip ☺

Good tab. Friendly staff. Outdoor beer garden with seated smoking area. Always good to grab a pint and use phone charging facilities before getting on the train late at night. Never had a big win on the brickies laptop here but I'm sure I'm due!

The Bistro's $12 Steak-Chips-Salad special Monday-Saturday (ALL DAY) is delicious, great value. Also awesome: You can swap the regular chips for sweet potato fries or mash for $2 more.

I stop in for 1 drink...that turned into many with my work friends.
I then just thought or asking the bar if the had a rooms overnight so I could stay and just go back easier and closer to work. 125 bucks overnight. 10 out of 10. Awesome room. And Fantastic staff. Will definitely be back...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great food ...my steak was cooked to perfection and very speedy service..excellent value meals with special starting at $12.00 . Will be going back for the $15 Sunday roast .Nice chilled beer good prices ..happy hour schooner only 5.20... well worth the visit.

This hotel is very handy located at central station just near the light rail. Very good, tasty food and reasonably priced. Shared schnitzel as it was that generous. Staff are really friendly so all in all a great centrally located pub to catch up with friends.

· Excellent hotel, excellent location, the metro is almost at the porch, next to cafes, shops, a 24-hour hypermarket. Gorgeous panoramic view from the window (we lived on the 11th floor). On one side is the avenue, on the other, stunning sunsets in the evening! The room is clean: cleaning, towel change every day. The room has everything necessary for living (kettle, refrigerator, TV, hairdryer, air conditioning). The staff is very friendly;)

10/10 The rooms, the atmosphere and especially the food, all good and standout for this side of the city.
Checking out the upstairs area for the best experience.

Going through some upgrades, but great staff, cocktails in the rooftop bar were surprisingly amazing for a place that doesnt have that snobby cocktail lounge look. The atmosphere and vibe is real casual and just a great place to have a few drinks and chill out after work.
