Collingwood Backpackers

This hostel is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! Sadly I already had to leave after 2 weeks but I will come back for sure. It feels like one big family and the kitchen is big so you have enough room to cook. Beds are really nice and there are enough showers and bathrooms for everyone. The owner Paul is also really nice and makes sure everyone feels comfortable.

It has been a great experience living in this Hostel. I have been there for about two months and i have really felt home there. You might have to put in some cleaning to feel 100 percent comfortable in your room. It is affordable and to me the people in this hostel became very close to family.I think this is the best longterm hostel you can find if you are staying at least a month.

I lived at Collingwood Backpackers for 6 months. It's a place you never want to leave. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and none felt like home as this one does. It's hard to explain but it feels like a house and not a hostel. There's nobody on reception telling you to keep it down and you're largely all left to look after the place yourselves which leads to forming of close friendships. Stay here. If you can cope with a building that's seen its best day a long time ago and an environment that can at times not be the cleanest you will have the best time here

Collingwood Backpackers was my home for 7 months. ❤ Loved every minute of living here, definitely my fave hostel and it's especially great if you plan on staying long-term. Paul, the hostel owner, is lovely. He really gave us a home and family in Melbourne. Also, made sure we were safe and well during covid19.

Had an awesome time. I spent 4 months there and you get hooked on the friendly, positive and social vibe there. Paul, the owner, is a gem. Room 7 is my old room and is awesome!

I recommend this hostel. Don't expect something too sophisticated like in some other hostel, it's a very simple one fully equiped.

However, this place is comfy and causy and really make you feel at home :). And I think it's the more important thing finally.

Very nice place, people are so cool there, it is perfect if you want to have a real break and chill a bit. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm, room-mate really respectful, lockers and small fridge in the room. All the things you need, free Wi-Fi, TV room, computers, nice kitchen, no one stilling food or anything else. Safe and near the tram and the train station to get in the city. Paul the owner helped me a lot and it is really interesting to talk with him. All nationality are in there it is not like a hostel where you will find only French and German young people. Generally, they stay for a long period and are friendly and meet you to play, drink or just chat around a ciggie. I recommend at 300% this hostel.

Great price, has everything you need and the staff is friendly and pleasant. Always looks after the jugglers ;)

Came for a party and it was great. Awesome atmosphere and lovely people.
