Great underground hidden spot. The entry is cute and actually in use! So many underground spots waste the top entry, the team was cooking, and the food looked and smelled mourish. We managed to get in without a booking for two drinks. The service here was very outstanding, Flynn was spot on with his recommendations, and his choices surprised us, and we were so impressed. The team is efficient, and the vibe was on point. Will definitely be coming back.

Such a nice experience in this hidden cocktail bar. The food was perfect. The drinks are each one better than the other.
The staff are really friendly and receptive, plus they know each detail about the drinks and they can match your preferences, just in case you don't know which one to choose.

The place is lovely. Very classic indeed. Cumberland cocktail is impressive and the Charcaturie and Meatballs are satisfying. Hope you'll have larger tables to hold orders for big-takers like us. Still, overall its a nice experience. Must visit this hidden underground bar and would love to drop by again soon. 👍🤙🍸🍻

Lovely friendly service and great range of drinks!

This was our first visit to the Cumberland and we will definitely be back. I would recommend booking to guarantee a table. The service was wonderful and we had some delicious food. In particular we loved the large share board with cheese and meats.

The Cumberland is the epitome of a hidden gem. Spectacular service and amazing cocktails from the bartenders. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a higher end bar experience around manly with a magical atmosphere and spectacular food and drink

Very nice place in Manly. Always wanted to go but never managed to go until last week, just because it requires a bit planning ahead i.e. make a booking. We went for the Raclette night on Wednesday. The Raclette platter is a good portion size for 2, we didn’t order more food (even though it sounded delicious). I really enjoyed the experience. Will be back to try the other charcuterie/ cheese platters.

Amazing little underground that has great bar staff and a wide selection of drinks. They have an impressive well stocked bar and the layout and feel or the interior is superb. It is a fairly small space so ensure you make a booking!!!

Wednesday raclette night at Cumberland is one not to miss. Flyn and Michael were the perfect hosts.

You come to recognise top quality service vs. price over time. Here is my experience with rhe Cumberland (24/2/24).

I googled some bars In manly. After waiting 25 mins for a cocktail nearby I wandered into the upstairs of cumberlabd with My partner. The matride/kitchen head asked if we had a booking to which i replied "no, are you full". She mentioned their was a spot but little more than a corner table with two barstools. We accepted. Within 30 seconds of sitting down, we were served by someone with a menu. After explaining the menu front to back I asked him what he'd recommend. He then asked what we like to which I replied "citric for the lady and classic for myself". He then suggested two cocktails (I think the lilly pilly and the sazerac*) which were absolutely what we were looking for. About 3 mins later he returned and offered us one of two tables of our choosing. To me, this is great service, the staff were accommodating, attentive and knowledgeable. The food we got and the 2nd round of cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere was great and the staff were dressed the part. I highly recommend this bar to those seeking an authentic sub terrainnian cocktail bar vibe. Really cool!

Such a fabulous place hidden away in the heart of manly. It felt like I was overseas. Great food and atmosphere but the best thing is the customer service! The staff were phenomenal!! I went two nights in a row and am now telling everyone I meet to go. Thank you for a excellent night in manly!!

The Cumberland is a gorgeous intimate bar with delicious drinks & nibbles. We’ve been here a few times for drinks with friends and recently did their cocktail class with some friends which was an incredible experience! The thought and time that has gone into designing their menu and the whole space is incredible. Their drinks are a work of art, the amount of effort that goes into them is unbelievable! That combined with the delicious food and the cool atmosphere makes it one of the best hidden bars in Sydney!

For a fun, atmospheric step back in time, book a table at The Cumberland. It's been on a must visit list for nearly a year and we finally visited Saturday night. From the cool entrance, the beautiful attention to detail, the fab cocktails not to mention the incredible service and wonderful staff this is such a great night out.

So, we stumbled across Donnys Bar whilst exploring the streets of Manly.

Whilst there, the venue manager told us about a cool hidden speakeasy bar called ‘The Cumberland’

When we finished our food and drinks we headed over, the guy was so kind he chaperoned us and made a formal introduction……amazing!

We walked into this little place called ‘Cove Deli’ and was greeted by a lovely young guy in his butchers/chefs uniform.

The manager from Donnys asked us to wait a moment.

He then opened what looked like an old school chest freezer door and disappears.

A few moments later he came back through the door and said ‘Welcome to the Cumberland’ please head downstairs, Pete is waiting to greet you.

We walked down a dimmly lit spiral staircase and at the bottom we were greeted by a huge smiling face, saying ‘Hi I’m Pete, welcome to the Cumberland.

The place was incredible, dark, cool, super well appointed and the feel of an old school American Speakeasy.

The cocktails were fantastic and the wine list was tight but exciting.

The barr staff were super friendly and engaging.

Pete - well he is simply a Legend!

We are looking forward to heading back and seeing him.

Cute hidden old style bar in the suburbs! Will come back for the drinks. The Roxburgh was delicious, as was the milk and corn drink. Food was yum as well, we had the cheese platter. Recommend!

This was such an awesome find. An awesome little Speakeasy place tucked away downstairs of a deli.
The food was beautiful and the cocktails were amazing but what really stood out was the cocktail staff, who were not only professional and well presented and their knowledge of cocktails was second to none and took the time to get to know us and explained in detail all the different notes of the drinks.
Will definitely return and would recommend this place to anyone.
